Boutique Hotels in the Lower East Side, New York City (4 of 4)

Large, fun, sleek faux-industrial designs; great views through floor-to-ceiling windows; comfortable beds; and up-to-date electronics.
The Hotel on Rivington is a secretive hot spot for well-heeled travelers who like their neighborhoods cool and their thread counts high. Sleek and stylish, the monied vibe doesn't exactly mesh with the Lower East Side's immigrant history, and the place is showing some serious wear and tear, but the luxurious rooms and amazing views just might merit the attitude. The LES is the newest offering from Thompson Hotels, a company with a "manifesto" that includes these words: "Bohemian chic meets art house wise meets quiet yet radical elegance." Strangely, that barely intelligible string of marketing babble somehow manages to capture what this place is like. Large, fun, sleek faux-industrial designs; great views through floor-to-ceiling windows; comfortable beds; and up-to-date electronics.
