Attracting families and guests looking for ocean fun at lower prices than in nearby Kennebunkport, the motel is not fancy, but is clean, well-maintained, and generally quiet. The mid-size, sparkling blue pool and whirlpools were both renovated in 2014. Guests gather poolside on chaise lounges, and at high tables and chairs. Beyond the pool, overlooking the sand dunes, is a patio area with grills, cushioned chairs, and picnic tables for guest use. During the day, the pool area remains pretty quiet, with guests off at the beach. The Beachwood is family-run and the owners live on-site, lending a friendly, familiar feel to the scene.
