The Florida Hotel boasts a plethora of meeting rooms, so it’s not surprising that most guests seem to be in Orlando for business. But that’s not to say that all guests are business travelers, and even those who are take advantage of the hotel’s leisure-focused amenities such as the lovely outdoor pool and the fitness center. Tourists, often laden with shopping bags, can be found relaxing in the hotel’s modern, two-story lobby –- after all, the Florida Hotel is attached to the Florida Mall, one of the largest and most diverse shopping spots in Orlando.

One of the hotel’s main selling points (for many) is its proximity to the Florida Mall -– which it is, in fact, attached to. Otherwise, guests will require a car to visit Orlando’s many other attractions, including Universal Studios, Disney World, and Sea World –- but the drive isn’t too long (12 minutes to Universal, 20 minutes to Disney World) unless you hit traffic (which is likely).

Nice amenities come standard here; all rooms are spacious, and feature fresh decor (picture fluffy, white sheets, comfy leather desk chairs, and granite countertops) as well as modern technology. Large flat-screen TVs, work desks, sofas, and free Wi-Fi make both work and leisure a breeze, and bathrooms come equipped with nice hairdryers (not attached to the wall), quality toiletries, and lighted makeup mirrors.

All rooms also feature laptop-sized safes and mini-fridges.

This modern hotel features numerous equally modern amenities. While most, such as a plethora of meeting rooms and an on-site Starbucks, are geared toward business travelers, leisure travelers will find plenty to keep them entertained. The outdoor pool, surrounded by an ivy-covered wall to block out traffic noise, is lovely and has plenty of plush lounge chairs, and guests can arrange in-room spa treatments. Both business and leisure travelers will also likely appreciate the spacious business center, which boasts Mac computers (that can run on both Apple and Windows operation systems), leather office chairs, cell phone charging stations, several breakout rooms for quick meetings, and free Wi-Fi (which is available throughout the hotel). The fitness center is also sleek and spacious, featuring cardio machines with personal TVs, weight-training machines, and a separate area with balance balls, yoga mats, and free weights.

Guests can visit the sports bar, which serves light bites and cocktails, or enjoy a full-course meal in the on-site bistro, which offers an impressive breakfast buffet in the mornings. Room service is not available around the clock, but begins early and ends late.

Unlike many nearby hotels, the Florida Hotel does not offer any features geared specifically towards children. However, families do stay at the hotel and can often be found by the pool.
