20 minutes away from Panama City Beach
Panama City is an ideal place to find an inexpensive hotel about a 15 - 20 minute drive from Panama City Beach. The city has its own downtown area, shopping mall, and is full of restaurant choices.
Located along Florida’s Panhandle, Panama City Beach offers beautiful white sand beaches that attract thousands of tourists each year. During spring break alone, over 100,000 high school and college students flock to its shores. Along with a number of high-rise condos and hotels -- built up during a mid-2000s construction boom -- the city’s main strip is lined with a number of mini-golf businesses, souvenir shops, arcades, and seafood restaurants. Other nearby attractions: the scuba diving shop Diver’s Den, St. Andrews State Park, and the Museum of Man in the Sea.
Microtel Inn & Suites Panama City is a 63-room budget hotel located 11 miles from the white sandy shores of Panama City Beach. Spacious rooms are outfitted with Microtel’s trademark furnishings, such as wall-length mirrors behind the beds, wall-mounted lighting, and window seats. Suites also have an additional lounge area with sleeper sofa, kitchenette, mini-fridge, and work desk. While these basic amenities sound sufficient and the sunny outdoor pool is appealing, there have been some complaints about cleanliness issues. There are other inexpensive hotels in Panama City that might be better picks, such as Quality Inn & Suites or Red Roof Inn.
