Bottom Line

Les Jardins du Marais is an upper-middle-range hotel, with 205 rooms and 58 suites spread across seven renovated buildings, all overlooking a landscaped garden. Rooms are elegant and sunny, with sleek, pretty furniture and quality linens. The many meeting rooms can make Les Jardins a good choice for business travelers. The Marais neighborhood, with its maze of medieval streets, museums, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants, sits across the Boulevard Beaumarchais from the hotel, which is within a few minutes' walk to a metro station. Tourists who prefer to stay closer to the Champs-Elysees might check out the smaller Hotel Galileo.

Hotel Les Jardins du Marais

Scene

An incredible garden outside; post-modern style and elegance inside

Behind an unassuming facade, this hotel's nine historic brick buildings (including Gustave Eiffel's old workshop) look into a courtyard full of blossoming flowers, carefully landscaped plants, and funky sculptures. There are multiple patios and places to explore and relax, as well as rotating exhibits of contemporary art.

During the day, the lobby and restaurant are flooded with sunlight from a glass roof. The hotel is decorated in opulent, Art-Deco-inspired furnishings, plush fabrics, rich colors, and interesting art, such as a made-from-feather rendition of the Vermeer painting “The Girl With the Pearl Earring.” Post-modern Philippe Starck furniture, opulent, playful lighting fixtures, and plenty of fresh flowers make the space feel welcoming, beautiful, and Paris chic.
