In a quiet but central neighborhood, within walking distance of the Luxembourg Gardens and Montparnasse Cemetery
The One by the Five hotel is on Paris's Left Bank, in a local area removed from the hordes of tourists. It's surrounded by quiet streets and plenty of restaurants, and within walking distance are four metro stations, including direct lines to both airports. The metro can take guests to all the major sites in Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame (many sights can be reached on foot as well).
Paris is one of Europe's most densely populated cities, and is currently one of the world's most important business and cultural metropolises. Known as "The City of Lights" for its growth during the Age of Enlightenment, Paris is home to some of the world's most luxurious fashion (Hermes, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent), iconic museums, and structures, as well as major media and business outlets.
This hotel gets its name because it is literally one guestroom. Clearly designed to set a romantic mood for guests, the room offers scent choices, a "love elixir" cocktail that can be made in the suite's kitchenette, a rose petal-covered levitating bed (it's attached to the wall but not the floor), and a common area dubbed "the dance floor," with all-red decor and crushed velvet curtains. And though some find it cheesy, the room still has an upscale vibe, particularly in the mod bedroom where the lighting can be dimmed down so that the ceiling glows with a twinkling starlight effect. A flat-screen TV, iPod dock, and free Wi-Fi are also on offer. There are literally no features at this one-room property, but room service is available and there are several restaurants within walking distance.
