Lift Line by ResortQuest

Scene

Office-like brick building that's prettier inside than out, with a cozy lounge area for post-ski relaxing

Lift Line by Wyndham Vacation Rentals are situated in a boxy, three-story red-brick and wood building, the ground floor of which serves as a covered parking garage. The private units are accessed via a narrow, indoor staircase leading to drab, outdoor stairways and landings. The interior of Lift Line is much more attractive than the exterior, and unlike other nearby Wyndham properties, this one has a communal area for guests. Comfortable, bright, and modern, the guest lounge has brick accent walls, wooden tables, and a cluster of southwestern-patterned couches and armchairs facing a row of tall windows, allowing guests to gaze out at the residential street. The main reception office is located off-site, and is more rustic and dated, with comfy leather couches and a stone fireplace, along with a display of tourism brochures, and coffee and cookies for guests. The property tends to attract families with kids, and groups of friends who want self-catering accommodations within walking distance of the slopes and restaurants.

Location

A short walk to Park City chairlifts, and 15 minutes on foot to Main Street

The condos are in a residential area with other homes, apartments, and small businesses -- including a Starbucks -- on all sides. Busy Park Avenue, which has regular traffic, runs alongside the building. The chairlifts at Park City Mountain Resort are within a five-minute walk. Main Street and its many shops, restaurants, and bars is about a 15-minute walk, or 10-minute ride on the free shuttle that stops at City Park across the street from the complex. Deer Valley Resort is about a 10-minute ride on the shuttle, and Canyons Resort is a 15-minute drive or half-hour on the shuttle. Salt Lake City Airport is about 40 minutes away by car. Metropolitan Holiday Village 4 Cinemas is about a 10- to 15-minute walk.

Rooms

Log furniture, modern kitchens, and real wood-burning fireplaces

Although the complex looks a bit plain from the outside, the private, two- and three-bedroom units are bright and modern, with living rooms and full kitchens. Decor is natural and cabin-like, with wood flooring, knotty-wood furniture, and dark leather chairs. Living rooms have flat-screen TVs and real, wood-burning fireplaces. Kitchens have sleek appliances, including full-size refrigerators, electric ranges, microwaves, coffeemakers, blenders, toasters, and dishwashers -- along with long granite islands lined with log chairs for dining. Good-size windows allow in plenty of natural light, and offer views of surrounding Park City. Beds are topped with thick, colorful quilts with southwest patterns, and supported by log bed frames. Units have two bathrooms with contemporary tiling and shower/tub combos; some shower curtains are printed with bears and elk. One bedroom in each unit is clearly designed for children, with a pair of log-frame bunk beds packed in against a window. A red brick-lined staircase leads between floors, and each unit has a washer/dryer, and free Wi-Fi access.
