Bottom Line

Situated at the edge of Park City, the mid-range Park City Marriott offers 192 clean, basic rooms, though bathrooms are on the small side and rooms can be noisy. While the hotel isn’t close enough to downtown to walk, it does offer free shuttle service to the slopes and to the pedestrian shopping area that operates through the evening. There's also a bar and a restaurant, as well as a small indoor pool with a hot tub, ski/snowboard storage, a laundry room, and a tiny fitness center.

Oyster Hotel Review

Park City Marriott

Scene

Cheery, wood-accented lobby with fireplace anchors a series of low-lying A-frame buildings

The carport-style entrance of this ski hotel leads to an ordinary series of plain two-story buildings topped with lattice A-frame roofs. Interiors are more welcoming, and include a bright, cheery, atrium lobby with wood, and stone accents and two-story-high ceilings. Couches and ottoman footrests provide a relaxing spot to sit in the cozy fireplace area.

Location

In a residential part of Park City, removed from the slopes and downtown

There is little in the way of commerce immediately around the Marriott, as it's situated on a road leading out of town in a largely residential section. The hotel is a five-minute drive from the slopes and the downtown area of Park City, and while it's a bit too far to walk (especially with ski gear) the property runs a free shuttle to the slopes and the city from morning through the evening.

Rooms

Plain, but clean and relatively spacious rooms with new flat-screen TVs and tiny bathrooms

The plain, cheery rooms at the Marriott have cream-colored walls offset by dark-wood headboards and furniture. Patterned carpeting was upgraded after our visit, and some rooms have new ergonomic desk chairs and brown armchairs. The combination is elegant, though the wood veneer can be a bit dinged up in places. Tiny bathrooms feature small antechambers with granite vanities and separate rooms with a toilets, sinks, and shower/tub combos. All rooms have hairdryers, flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and irons, and some have mini-fridges and free bottled water. Guests staying in Concierge Level rooms have access to the Concierge Lounge, which comes with free breakfast, snacks, and dessert.

Features

Business center, restaurant, bar, giftshop, indoor pool with hot tub, ski storage and tune-up

The hotel has a tiny fitness center with a rubberized floor and a handful of exercise machines along with a rack of free weights. A business center in the lobby offers the use of a printer and a computer, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property for guests with their own devices.  The hotel runs a ski storage area and tune-up, and there is a nice lobby lounge with a fireplace, couches, and TVs, in addition to Den Restaurant, which serves American cuisine (including a buffet breakfast, for a fee), a bar with a patio, and a gift shop with Starbucks coffees.
