The Sky Lodge

1.

You’re looking for an A-list party

The Sky Lodge Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Sky Lodge is a major hub hotel of the festival, and a stay here could mean plenty of late nights and star-studded after parties. The property is upscale from top to bottom, featuring chic boutique-y decor melded with homey mountain style. The suites and residences are massive and high-end, sporting working fireplaces, kitchenettes or kitchens with modern appliances, private balconies (many with hot tubs), and washer/dryers. Bathrooms in the residences are palatial, with two sinks, double showers and soaking tubs (some even have flat-screen TVs). The central location makes getting around Park City and hitting the slopes easy.

The St. Regis Deer Valley

2.

You just signed on as the lead in Scorsese’s next film

The St. Regis Deer Valley Rating: 5.0 Pearls

Anyone looking for outright luxury and A-List pampering will love the St. Regis, which offers a true five-star experience for visitors to Park City. The expansive, well-maintained property has a spacious fitness center with personal trainers and a yoga and Pilates studio, a high-end spa, a spacious heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, a fine-dining restaurant, and elegant rooms with modern amenities and spectacular views. The property swells with celebs during Sundance (as do the prices), which is no surprise thanks to its on-mountain location in posh Deer Valley. Luckily, festival parties and events in downtown Park City are only an eight-minute drive away.

Stein Eriksen Lodge

3.

You’d actually like to ski between screenings

Stein Eriksen Lodge Rating: 5.0 Pearls

If the idea of trading in Beverly Hills for slopes covered with fresh powder gets you going, the luxurious 170-room Stein Erikson Lodge is your best bet. The biggest draws here include ski-in, ski-out access to Deer Valley Resort, and a design style that could be described as "wilderness chic." Rooms are spacious with lodge decor, comfortable bedding and clean bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries. Besides the highly reputed spa, the two restaurants (make sure to try the Stein burger) and year-round outdoor pool with a large fireplace add to the lodge's popularity.

Waldorf Astoria Park City

4.

You’re more classic Tinseltown than young Hollywood

Waldorf Astoria Park City Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Do you fancy yourself more of a Jack Nicholson than a Jake Gyllenhall? Does the mere thought of trading in Manhattan for Deer Valley make you homesick? Book a room at the Waldorf Astoria Park City. It's as luxurious as its storied name promises, starting with the beautiful lobby all the way up to the residence style rooms, featuring fireplaces and large marble-and-granite bathrooms. The pool area is gorgeous as well, boasting magnificent mountain views.

Montage Deer Valley

5.

You’re trying to woo your girl away from Ryan Gosling

Montage Deer Valley Rating: 5.0 Pearls

Ryan Gosling has won over hearts by playing a ukulele and driving a getaway car on the silver screen. You, on the other hand, can't carry a tune or parallel park -- but if you're looking to be seriously romantic during Sundance, the Montage Deer Valley can help. The rooms at the large, luxurious resort feel like upscale apartments, with warm wood accents, chandeliers, high-end artwork, fireplaces, and marble bathrooms complete heated floors, soaking tubs, and separate showers. The hotel has a massive spa (with free access to its pool, steam rooms, and saunas) and several restaurants, one with fine dining and another with a bowling alley. Ski-in/ski-out access is a big draw.

Bear Hollow Village

6.

You have all the kids in tow, Brad-and-Angelina-style

Bear Hollow Village Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Bear Hollow Village is a neighborhood-like resort featuring three-bedroom condos and three- and four-bedroom townhouses -- perfect for traveling troupes of budding A-listers. The individually owned condos and townhouses vary in decor and modernity (some do not have flat-screen TVs or Wi-Fi) but all feature fireplaces, washer/dryers, and modern, sleek kitchens. As a condominium property, the hotel lacks amenities such as housekeeping and a spa, but the Clubhouse features a small fitness center (with just a few machines) and a business center.

The Yarrow Hotel and Conference Center

7.

You’re still working as an extra but are poised for the A-list

This 181-room, mid-range hotel is one of the more affordable in Park City and hosts decent after parties. Though it is a drive from the slopes, a free shuttle bus stops right in front of the hotel, and free parking and Wi-Fi add value. Rooms are large, with empty mini-fridges and flat-screen TVs, even if the decor is pretty bland (beige curtains and furniture). And don't worry about partying too late: food services at the hotel will be operating around the clock for the first week of the festival.

Sundial Lodge at Canyons Resort

8.

You went through a Demi/Ashton-esque breakup and want to avoid your ex

Just because Park City isn't big enough for both you and your ex doesn't mean you can't hunker down with your kids in the somewhat calmer Canyons. A nice choice for families, the Sundial Lodge features rooms and one- to two-bedroom suites with mini-fridges, microwaves, and toasters. Though the somewhat drab lodgelike decor can't compare to that in the more ultra-luxe sister Canyons' hotels, like the Waldorf Astoria, the rooms are large yet cozy, with warm colors and wooden accents (and many rooms have fireplaces). There's also a small heated pool, a rooftop Jacuzzi and a basic fitness center.
