Bottom Line

This mid-range option in the expensive resort town of Park City features suites and condos, each with a kitchen, laundry facilities, a flat-screen TV, and a fireplace. Because condos are privately owned, the decor and quality of the kitchen appliances varies from room to room, but many have kitschy decor (for example, this western-themed bedspread). The indoor/outdoor pool and game room are nice for families, but concierge service is available only during the winter; be prepared to make your own arrangements during the off-season.

Oyster Hotel Review

Silver King Hotel

Location

At the base of Park City Mountain

The hotel is at the base of the mountain, just a short walk from the lift.

When people think of Park City, they think of the resort town Park City Mountain. Park City Mountain is where the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Olympic Team comes to train, and has lots of powdery, challenging slopes, but there are plenty of different slopes for different levels. The mountain originally opened as Treasure Mountain in the 60s, but was renamed in 1996 and today boasts eight peaks, nine bowls, and 16 chairlifts, as well as a snowboard park. During the summer months, the mountain turns into an amusement park with lots of rides, and slopes turn into hiking and biking trails.

  • 43-minute drive to Salt Lake City International Airport
  • 2-minute walk to the chairlift
  • 15-minute walk or 3-minute drive to Kimball Art Center
  • 2-minute drive to the Park City Golf Course
  • 4-minute drive Main Street
  • 4-minute drive to Park City Historical Society
