Bottom Line

This mid-range condominium resort is geared toward golfers vacationing with friends or family, with numerous packages for local courses on offer. The condos are large enough to sleep four to 12, but they're dated, with motel-quality bedding and old tube TVs in some rooms. For more modern rooms, try the chicer (and pricier) Westin Kierland Resort and Spa, which has three 18-hole golf courses on-site.

Meridian CondoResorts

Scene

A golfer-friendly condo resort with outdated decor

The family-friendly Meridian CondoResorts is composed of 50 condos, set within an apartment complex in northeastern Scottsdale (so you'll be sharing your stay with permanent residents). Golf is the main draw here, with golf packages available to suit all skill levels at many local courses. (There are dozens in the surrounding area.)

The spacious condos offer all the amenities of home, including full kitchens, washers, and dryers. The rooms are clean and adequate, but parts of the 1980s-style interior feel worn. Outside, the grounds are nicely groomed with barbecues and picnic tables set beneath shady ramadas. The pool is huge, and features waterfalls and a sand beach, along with numerous lounge chairs and two Jacuzzis.
