The Four Seasons is one of the top luxury resorts in Scottsdale, with a gorgeous bi-level pool with a kiddy area, bar service, cabanas, and occasional free treats, an intimate setting in the Sonoran Desert, and beautiful grounds. A middling motel in downtown Scottsdale turned boutique-style standout by the Kimpton Group, the FireSky "resort" offers something for everyone, including a great pool with a sandy play area, plenty of poolside seating, Jacuzzis, and fire pits. This 160-room mid-range hotel has two heated pools: One on the ground level with a waterfall; and the other for the private use of Cabana Suite guests atop the hotel roof, with views of downtown Phoenix. The four-pearl Fort McDowell is stocked to the gills with features: Live events, restaurants, lounges, and a heated pool with fire pits. The Carefree Resort and Conference Center is a landmark in the beautiful Sonoran Desert foothills with a heated pool in a well-groomed Sonoran Desert setting. This Westin high-rise is luxurious and business-friendly, and offers a heated pool with skyscraper views. This mid-range boutique is the opposite of a corporate chain, with 1960s retro decor, hip employees and clientele, and a fun atmosphere. The attractive heated pool and Jacuzzi area features cool water fixtures (arcs of water springing from the pavement into the pool) that's a lively, popular spot when the weather is warm. This 326-room resort in central Scottsdale, next to the high-end McCormick Ranch Golf Course, is upscale but laid-back, with two heated pools: A busier rectangular pool, with a poolside bar, Jacuzzi, and numerous lounge chairs; and the quieter Casita Pool, with views of the golf course. While not quite a romantic escape in the same way as The Boulders or The Sanctuary, the Westin Kierland is, all-around, a great resort with The Adventure Waterpark and adults-only pool. Arguably the most scenic resort in the Southwest, the Boulders is built to impress, with four pools: main pool (a bit small, considering the size of the resort); Golden Door pool (quieter pool at the spa); Club Pool (small pool at the Club House for cooling off after a day in the sun or a workout on the tennis courts); Villa Pool (more secluded, closer to the private villas) The 3 Palms may look like a motel on the outside, but this affordable Scottsdale boutique has tasteful, contemporary rooms; solid freebies; and an attractive pool with bar, Jacuzzi, and water misters. W Marriott Camelback Inn, which dates back to the 1930s, is located in the upscale Paradise Valley section of Scottsdale, surrounded by tall desert palms, cacti, and rolling mountains. Even the big, free-form pool has amazing views of Camelback and Mummy Mountains. The massive resort is part of the Marriott's JW luxury brand, and lives up to expectations with two 18-hole golf courses and /phoenix/hotels/jw-marriott-desert-ridge-resort-and-spa/photos/pool/ four pools, including the popular Lazy River. The affordable rates and proximity to Old Town Scottsdale make the Clarion a fine choice for travelers. The heated pool and Jacuzzi even boasts cabanas and lounge chairs. This 250-acre Starwood resort and conference center is a luxury property ideally situated on the edge of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix's Sonoran desert. The resort features nine pools, with attentive pool attendants. This condominium resort is geared toward golfers vacationing with friends or family, and includes a heated pool and Jacuzzis with lounge chairs and ramadas (open-air structures offering shade) , a sand beach, and waterfalls.
