Bottom Line

RQ Central Suites is part of the RQ Hotel group, a chain that operates six other apartment-style establishments in Santiago. It's located in the heart of downtown Santiago, within walking distance to popular sights. The 43 rooms all have basic decor, with gray color palettes and no-frills furniture, but high-quality kitchens or kitchenettes. Bathrooms are on the smaller side and have contemporary vessel sinks. Rooms are located on the top four floors of an apartment building (housing permanent residents), and offer amazing views, as does the small rooftop pool. Additional amenities include a game room with a pool table, a small fitness center, a laundry room, and two dining areas (one outdoor, one in) where guests can sit to eat the lackluster breakfast. Guests should be forewarned that RQ has been known to move guests to a room at a sister property upon check-in, without prior notice. Overall, though, it's a solid value pick, and is well-suited for extended stays.

RQ Central

Location

Situated in the heart of the city

This property is located in the heart of downtown Santiago, within walking distance of Plaza de la Constitucion, La Moneda Palace, and La Moneda metro stop.

Though the city has had a storied past, marked by battles over colonialism and freedom, present-day Santiago is a bustling, loud, ever-growing and ever-evolving metropolis populated with nearly seven million people. Aside from being the political and economic center of Chile, it is also fast becoming the country's hub for arts, entertainment, food and drink, and culture. The dynamic city is dotted with museums, theaters, bars, and different vibrant neighborhoods that cater to various crowds, such as the bohemian artists, culinary elite, and politicians. What makes this urban center especially unique is the fact that it's surrounded by the beautiful, glistening snow-capped Andes Mountains. Although Santiago has had a problem with smog and air pollution, it's still difficult not to be impressed by this stunning natural backdrop.

  • 23-minute drive to Arturo Merino Benitez Airport
  • 23-minute drive to Los Cerrillos Airport
  • 4-minute walk to La Moneda metro stop
  • 6-minute walk to La Moneda Palace
  • 14-minute walk to Municipal Theatre of Santiago
  • 15-minute walk to Plaza de Armas, and the Chilean National History Museum
  • 11-minute drive to Providencia
  • 26-minute drive to Vitacura
  • 39-minute drive to Las Condes
