The Lighthouse Inn at Aransas Bay

The Lighthouse Inn at Aransas Bay Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The 78-room Lighthouse Inn at Aransas Bay is in a wonderful location right on the water in old Rockport. Rooms are classic -- if slightly outdated, with comforters instead of duvets, and tube TVs -- and offer decent amenities suh as microwaves and mini-fridges. Balconies are the most appealing feature here, with two rocking chairs that face either the bay or the pool and gardens. This inn is full of scenic places to relax, including the big outdoor swimming pool surrounded by tropical landscaping and a fishing dock jutting out into the bay.
Omni Corpus Christi Hotel Bayfront Tower

Omni Corpus Christi Hotel Bayfront Tower Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Omni Corpus Christi Bayfront Tower’s 475 updated rooms feature tasteful, modern decor and comfortable beds. However, the balconies, with wonderful views of the city and sea, inexplicably lack patio furniture. Well-located near the Corpus Christi Marina, the Bayfront Tower offers easy access to great dining and cultural attractions, and the harbor. Decent amenities such as a small indoor/outdoor pool, fitness center, and an outstanding rooftop restaurant are also draws.
Hotel Corpus Christi Bayfront

Hotel Corpus Christi Bayfront Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Things at this low-end budget property are finally starting to look up. The Travel Channel program Hotel Impossible featured the hotel in 2012, and gave the hotel's entrance area and cafe a much needed facelift -- including upgraded signage, landscaping additions, and de-cluttering of the cafe's windows (formerly covered in Post-It notes). Rooms are all very spacious, making it well-suited for families, and the aging bathrooms are getting modernized. The Astroturf-covered pool area is especially atrocious, however, and shows the dire state the property was in before being purchased. The renovations should hopefully bring more improvements.
Radisson Hotel Corpus Christi Beach

Radisson Hotel Corpus Christi Beach Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Radisson Hotel Corpus Christi Beach enjoys a wonderful location on a clean stretch of beach just north of downtown. Some of the comfortable (though somewhat dated) rooms have lovely views facing the sea, as does the hotel’s small pool that affronts the beach. Other rooms, though, face the uninspiring parking lot. There is decent dining in the lobby level restaurant, and a couple fun bar options on-site. All in all, it’s a good option for leisure travelers and vacationing families looking for a clean, comfortable hotel for a seaside holiday.
BEST WESTERN Marina Grand Hotel

BEST WESTERN Marina Grand Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

This Best Western is a decent value for a central location across from the marina in downtown Corpus Christi, with a bar that has a nice view of the water. Other than the view from the bar and some of the guest rooms and a free breakfast, the pet-friendly, mid-range property is a bit tired-looking and stuck in the ‘70s, though it’s been undergoing some renovations. Some may be put off by the postage stamp-size pillows in the guest rooms. Travelers looking for something a little more modern might want to check out the nearby Omni, which has slightly higher rates.
Staybridge Suites Corpus Christi

Staybridge Suites Corpus Christi Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Staybridge Suites Corpus Christi caters to families and business travelers on extended stay with its spacious, clean rooms and full kitchens. Its central location in a commercial district puts guests midway between downtown Corpus Christi’s cultural attractions and the beaches to the southwest. The surroundings aren’t the most glamorous, and you’ll need a car to get most everywhere -- but there are some perks to staying here, including plenty of dining and shopping options nearby.
Best Western on the Island

Best Western on the Island Rating: 2.5 Pearls

Best Western on the Island is a budget motel-style property overlooking Corpus Christi Bay. The hotel is off South Padre Island Drive, which leads to downtown Corpus Christi. The area feels a little quiet and spaced out, but there are affordable food options nearby. The rooms are fairly large and clean, with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and microwaves. While freebies -- such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking -- are plentiful, amenities -- like a gym and full restaurant -- are not. Families, however, appreciate the outdoor pool.
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Corpus Christi

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Corpus Christi Rating: 2.5 Pearls

Hawthorn Suites Corpus Christi is a solid value hotel with highlights such as an attractive outdoor pool and a free hot-and-cold breakfast buffet. Located in a commercial district, it sits midway between downtown Corpus Christi’s cultural attractions and the beaches to the south of town. The surroundings aren't the sexiest, but it's a convenient spot for exploring the area and saving some cash in the process. Travelers may consider comparing rates with the nearby Holiday Inn Express, however, as its rooms are more attractive and have large flat-screen TVs. The Hawthorn's rooms come equipped with wet bars and microwaves, but the decor is tired.
Emerald Beach Hotel

Emerald Beach Hotel Rating: 2.5 Pearls

The 368-room Emerald Beach, right off Corpus Christi Bay and near downtown, is a conveniently located hotel for vacationers on a budget. The facilities are not pristine -- decor throughout is a bit shabby -- and some guests have complained about a lack of overall cleanliness. On the plus side, the hotel has a restaurant and two bars, free Wi-Fi, and a large indoor pool with rec games and a children’s play place.
Hampton Inn & Suites Rockport - Fulton

Hampton Inn & Suites Rockport - Fulton Rating: 2.5 Pearls

The Hampton Inn & Suites Rockport is a stand-out in this price point for its updated, comfortable rooms, and excellent amenities, including an outdoor pool that’s straight out of a Tuscan villa, a sauna, and free breakfast. Good, strong coffee is available around-the clock in the lobby, and fresh-baked cookies in the afternoon add that right-at-home touch. The hotel is also well located in a pretty, tree-enclosed area along a main street in Rockport, close to beaches and local parks. Overall it's a great budget option only a half-hour drive to downtown.
