Marriott Hollywood Beach

Marriott Hollywood Beach Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Marriott's location is its main draw -- right by the boardwalk on a beautiful, white-sand beach that can be seen from the pool and numerous rooms. Not all rooms boast a spectacular view though, and those who prefer their privacy may not love the glass-door bathrooms, but the Marriott is one of the nicer properties in the area. The rooms are a good size with flat-screen TVs, and the marble bathrooms are sleek and sexy. Plus, the beach- and boardwalk-facing pool (with Jacuzzi), lovely day spa, and modern fitness center are additional perks.
Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton

Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This massive 998-room resort may lack the personality and charm of its smaller competitors, but it has extensive features. Highlights include two huge outdoor pools with cabanas and bar service, a full-service spa, five distinct restaurants, rental Jet Skis and kayaks, and direct access to a lovely stretch of public beach. The rooms are somewhat drab for the price, but travelers stay here for the amenities, not the decor. With no restaurants close to the resort, guests should come prepared to pay the Diplomat’s inflated food prices. Those looking for a smaller -- and less costly -- version of the Diplomat might consider the Marriott Hollywood Beach, located about two miles up the coast.
Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach

Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach is a solid choice for families and couples who want a clean room across the street from the beach, without a lot of extra charges and some convenient features. Rooms don't break the chain mold, but they are spacious and include balconies, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. The highlight at this chain hotel is the expansive swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers overlooking the bay. It's just a 10-minute drive to Fort Lauderdale and 20 minutes to Miami, making the hotel convenient to the action but still quiet.
Historic Hollywood Beach Resort

Historic Hollywood Beach Resort Rating: 2.5 Pearls

Historic Hollywood Beach Resort is a 150-room budget beachfront property located on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. The hotel has two on-site restaurants, a cafe, a large heated outdoor pool, direct beach access, and is near shops and area attractions. Room rates are comparatively low, but there's a daily resort fee to use the beach, pool, and fitness center. Some rooms have been renovated but others look straight out of the 70s, and past guests have complained about cleanliness and maintenance issues. This is a good fit for vacationers looking to save a buck without spending much time in their room, but watch out for a pesky resort fee.
