Lennox Hotel Buenos Aires

Lennox Hotel Buenos Aires Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The 57-room Lennox Hotel Buenos Aires is located in the central Congreso area, close to government offices. Quirky decorations and artwork, interesting wall patterns, and unusual color schemes make a stay here a distinct and memorable experience -- from the spacious lobby dressed in sleek shades of black, to the chic, dramatically lit private outdoor garden. All aesthetics aside, the hotel also offers top-notch comfort, luxury, and hospitality. There’s a restaurant serving international dishes using local ingredients, a free breakfast buffet with fresh fruits and hot eggs, and a spa for relaxation. And the rooms -- large and stylishly furnished like the rest of the property -- come with kitchenettes, big closets, iPod docks, and quaint dining areas.
Savoy Hotel

Savoy Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This gorgeous, stately building resides in the city's financial and political center, just minutes away from Congress and presidential offices. What sets the Savoy apart from other hotels is its classic appearance combined with modern flair. The shiny marble lobby features high ceilings, accentuated by a bright red chandelier and plush red chairs. The stunning lobby bar showcases tall pillars with ornate gold details and crystal chandeliers. The hotel's rooms are contemporary, with wood floors, dramatic headboards, and bold pops of color (though some units, such as the Corner Suite, have classic decor). Each room offers clean, contemporary bathrooms with walk-in showers and rainfall fixtures. The Savoy welcomes all kinds of guests, but it's particularly popular with couples and business travelers (who can make use of the 10 meeting rooms on the property).
Icaro Suites

Icaro Suites Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Icaro Suites provides guests with sleek, clean, and upscale rooms in a business-oriented area near the heart of Buenos Aires (though the public areas of the hotel feel less upscale). The 62 suites are roomy, comfortable, and sophisticated -- the dark wooden furniture and the simple deep-red and brown patterns of the bedding complement the subdued, beige walls and flooring. The rooms also come with some great features: large windows for lots of natural light, private balconies, free Wi-Fi, kitchenettes, and an ample living room areas. There's a free breakfast buffet of hot and cold foods in a hall that overlooks the hotel’s little art gallery, but there’s no other dining option on-site. There's a basic-needs (tiny) fitness center, and a business center with a few computers. Guests who have been traveling a while will likely appreciate the on-site laundry facilities.
Tribeca Buenos Aires Apart

Tribeca Buenos Aires Apart Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Tribeca Buenos Aires Apart has a lot of style and space for its slim capacity. The 35 rooms are arranged around a center courtyard that offers quaint outdoor seating and a peaceful reprieve from the city surroundings. The shared spaces of the hotel are sophisticated and modern (particularly the blue-lit lobby bar that doubles as restaurant after the free breakfast buffet), but the rooms don't quite measure up, with sparse decor and tight space -- though they do have surprisingly large bathrooms. Overall, the central (though slightly dicey) location in the heart of Buenos Aires, the fitness center for basic work-out needs, the spacious rooftop sundeck with Jacuzzis, and freebies such as Wi-Fi and breakfast all add up for a great value.
Apart Hotel & Spa Congreso

Apart Hotel & Spa Congreso Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Entering the unremarkable lobby of the 70-room Apart Hotel is enough to tell you that it's a no-frills property. Located in a rundown neighborhood, this mid-range hotel features rooms that are spacious and offer flat-screen TVs, but lack basic amenities, such as coffeemakers or microwaves in the kitchenettes. The cramped bathrooms and terrible views are big drawbacks. Families traveling on a budget may enjoy the layout of Quadruple rooms, which have plenty of space and twin beds for children, but the location in Congreso might be better suited to business travelers.
