Cozumel Palace

Cozumel Palace Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Cozumel Palace is an upscale all-inclusive resort located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars in San Miguel. It offers an impressive array of kid-friendly features, but is mostly popular with couples. Rooms feature liquor dispensers, flat-screen TVs, minibars and balconies, and all but the standard rooms have a big whirlpool. Dining options are varied and solid, and the pool area offers daily activities as well as a swim-up bar and loungers. The beach is great for snorkeling, but it’s man-made and small, so those looking to spend some time on a postcard perfect stretch of sand might want to look elsewhere.
Melia Cozumel All Inclusive Golf & Beach Resort

Melia Cozumel All Inclusive Golf & Beach Resort Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Melia Cozumel is a mid-range all-inclusive resort located on one of the best beaches in the North Hotel Zone and across the street from a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. It features 147 spacious rooms with furnished balconies and marble bathrooms with shower/tub combos -- but decor is a little bland, and technology could use an update in some units. There are several dining options on-site, two pools -- one of which is adults-only and has a swim-up bar -- a kids’ club, and a small spa complete with a fitness center. Its next-door neighbor, El Cozumeleño, has similar rates year-round and better snorkeling, but the Melia Cozumel has better rooms.
El Cozumeleño Beach Resort

El Cozumeleño Beach Resort Rating: 3.5 Pearls

El Cozumeleño is a mid-range all-inclusive resort located directly on a long, narrow beach in northern Cozumel. Its 252 rooms are no-frills and some have dated technology, but all units are spacious (especially those in the original building) and have furnished balconies with ocean views. The pools are the highlight here (one has a popular swim-up bar), but golf is also draw due to the resort's location across the street from the island's only golf course (guests get discounted rates). Breakfast and lunch are pretty average, but dinner is tasty and the menu changes every few days. Overall, the hotel is a solid pick for families and value travelers.
Hotel B Cozumel

Hotel B Cozumel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Hotel B has everything a hotel needs to draw a young, hip crowd: a lounge-y beach, spacious rooms with great amenities, a gorgeous infinity-edge pool, a hopping bar with great mojitos, and yoga classes several times a week. Everything here is trendy, but that doesn’t come at the cost of sustainability, social responsibility, or local culture -- the property is decorated top to bottom with traditional Mexican touches with a contemporary twist and crafts made by Mexican artisans. Add this to great rates and a fabulous restaurant, and you’ve got a resort that's a very attractive alternative to the dozens of all-inclusive properties lining this part of the island.
