The Beaufort Hotel

The Beaufort Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

Featuring only 29 rooms, this quaint-and-cozy boutique hotel offers an inviting, intimate experience in the middle of the posh residential neighborhood of Knightsbridge. As to be expected with a tiny boutique hotel, rooms lack extra space, but the decor is fresh and modern with neutral colors and the occasional designer-like touch (like stacked glass-ball lamps and pretty patterned wallpaper) -- though the random uninspired watercolor paintings feel a bit misplaced. Perhaps because of the surrounding area, rooms rates are here are above average despite the fact that rooms are missing some basic amenities (like a mini bar). But the free daily traditional English cream tea with homemade scones and the open bar in the evenings are definite perks.
Draycott Hotel

Draycott Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

This 35-room combo of Edwardian townhouses is warm and intimate with a country home feel, and in a great location for exclusive West End shopping. With wonderful boutique perks such as the free English afternoon tea (guests at other hotels will have to pay at least a £15 premium to enjoy such a tradition), free pre-dinner champagne, and free hot chocolate before bed, it’s hard to find much at the Draycott to complain about. Unless, of course, your priorities are a pool and fitness center, both of which the hotel lacks.
Egerton House Hotel

Egerton House Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

This exquisite luxury boutique hotel with just 28 rooms offers the elegance of a different time in England's history. Located in the upscale Knightsbridge neighborhood, Egerton House Hotel is a short walk from the famous Harrods Department store and renowned London museums. Rooms in this historic townhouse are individually decorated in rich fabrics, and have opulent bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, champagne on arrival, and candles at turndown. The common spaces are just as special, with a notable art collection -- including works by Picasso and Matisse -- and a gorgeous drawing room for afternoon tea.
The Lanesborough

The Lanesborough Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Lanesborough is a luxurious property overlooking Hyde Park in Knightsbridge. The 93 rooms have palatial bathrooms, big flat-screen TVs, and free butler service. Stately decor is inspired by the early 19th century, and free Wi-Fi and laptops are available in every room. Some rooms have great views of Hyde Park. Hotel highlights include fine dining at the Michelin-rated restaurant Apsleys, a wood-paneled Library Bar, and traditional afternoon tea. An excellent staff, luxurious touches, and exclusive location on the busiest corner of Hyde Park make the Lanesborough a great luxury pick.
Cadogan Hotel

Cadogan Hotel Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The Cadogan is an unpretentious boutique hotel with a prestigious Knightsbridge address. This 64-room hotel occupies a historic Edwardian townhouse on Sloane Street, in close proximity to local shopping. The property has a rich history, including the room where Oscar Wilde awaited his arrest in 1895 and another where King Edward VII met with his mistress, the British actress Lillie Langtry. The Cadogan creates guest profiles to take note of personal preferences, and classy rooms are full of character with antiques, dramatic curtains, and luxe bathrooms. Guests craving modernity will be happy to see big flat-screen TVs and iPod docks. The hotel also offers an excellent restaurant, Langtry's, named after the actress. With a small fitness center and personal service the Cadogan is an appealing pick, although some guests consider rooms to be a tad small and complain of street noise.
The Levin

The Levin Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Levin is a tiny, 12-room boutique hotel with an emphasis on personalized service. Comfortable and quiet rooms are reached by a charming 1940s cage elevator. All rooms have big flat-screen TVs, champagne-stocked minibars, and bathrooms with heated floors. A delicious continental breakfast is included in the nightly rate and is served each morning in the on-site restaurant. This chic hotel with sophisticated decor is centrally located for London shopping. The art deco vibe and delicious fare at Le Metro Brasserie help make this family-run hotel a good pick in London.
Durley House

Durley House Rating: 4.0 Pearls

THE DURLEY HOUSE CLOSED IN JANUARY 2013. The tiny and intimate Durley House is a specialized boutique hotel with a discrete Chelsea location. The 11 individually designed suites are spacious and filled with traditional English decor. Cozy living areas, modern kitchens, and dining spaces are features in all the suites. While Durley House doesn't have a formal restaurant, there is 24-hour room service available, utilizing a historic dumb waiter. Personal service makes Durley House stand out against the competition, and warm touches include big bouquets of fresh flowers and affordable afternoon tea. With free Wi-Fi and a great location for shopping in nearby Knightsbridge and Sloane Square, Durley House is a great pick for London visitors that aren't concerned with the latest modern decor.
The Capital Hotel

The Capital Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This boutique hotel delivers luxury without pretension, thanks to the personalized service and cozy touches. Its location in the tony Knightsbridge neighborhood makes for elegant surroundings and a close proximity to exclusive shops. The decor in most rooms is disappointing, though, as furnishings look more frumpy than fashionable. The property falls short of its advertised status as a five-star hotel, and amenities are few, with free Wi-Fi being the only notable perk.
Knightsbridge Green Hotel

Knightsbridge Green Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls

For a quick place to crash in a premier central West London location, this hotel is tolerable if you can get a deal. The hotel is showing serious wear and tear, and since the hotel advertises itself as a 4-star, rather than a budget, property, many guests walk away disappointed. Amenities are few: There's a business center and room service for breakfast, but little else. Prices are usually very inflated for what you get -- guests are better off spending their money elsewhere.
