The Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin

The Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The Fitzwilliam Hotel is a beautiful design hotel with a fantastic location overlooking St. Stephen's Green. A bold use of color, modern furniture, and eclectic accents combine in fun rooms with huge bathrooms. Many rooms have soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers; all have minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. In addition to a full gym and spa, the Fitzwilliam also has three distinct restaurants serving Irish, Mediterranean, and French cuisine (Thornton's has one Michelin star). The hotel also offers 24-hour room service. With small touches like fluffy duvets and nightly chocolates, this hotel -- with its location at the heart of Dublin -- is one of the best picks in town.
The Westbury Hotel

The Westbury Hotel Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The Westbury is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Dublin, just off Grafton Street and within walking distance of major sights. The 205 rooms and suites are beautifully decorated with neutral colors, plush couches and linens, and modern patterns. All rooms have Nespresso machines, minibars, and elegant bathrooms. The Westbury is known for space, and even the standard rooms are generous in size. The huge lobby is full of comfortable couches where a delicious afternoon tea is on offer. The hotel also has an upscale restaurant, Wilde, named after the writer Oscar Wilde, a casual restaurant called Cafe Novo, and the Marble Bar. When booking, be sure to read the fine print: Some packages come with breakfast and Wi-Fi while others do not.
The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel

The Shelbourne Dublin, A Renaissance Hotel Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The 265-room Shelbourne, built in 1824, is one of Dublin's best-known luxury icons, with a grand entrance right on St. Stephen's Green and an impressive roster of famous past guests (Bill Clinton, Julia Roberts, and Liam Neeson have all stayed here, to name a few). Rooms have elegant traditional decor, though some are quite small and standard Queen Rooms lack bathtubs. Still, the ornate common spaces, hot spot bars and dining venues, luxury spa, and historic cachet combine to make this one of Dublin's premier options. Only The Merrion can compare.
La Stampa Hotel & Spa

La Stampa Hotel & Spa Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The La Stampa Hotel & Spa is a 28-room boutique option in the center of Dublin. Eastern and Moroccan themes dominate the decor, and rooms have comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, and stocked minibars. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and some have luxurious soaking tubs. The on-site Mandala Spa continues the Moroccan theme and offers a long list of treatments, along with cozy seating. Restaurants and bars are a draw at this hotel, including the upscale Pink Supper Club and Sam Sara, home to a great late-night scene. The location on Dawson Street is easy walking distance from shopping on Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green, but the hotel is on the pricey side.
The Cliff Townhouse

The Cliff Townhouse Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Cliff Townhouse is a quaint bed and breakfast with a prestigious address on St. Stephen's Green. This historic townhouse is better known for its upscale restaurant and bar than its 10 elegant, individually decorated rooms. The rooms are one of the best kept secrets in Dublin, with free Wi-Fi, soft furnishings, and lovely accents. An excellent breakfast is included in the nightly rate and many guests also take advantage of the fantastic in-house restaurant, complete with a fireplace. While there is no elevator that reaches all of the rooms and the lobby is very small, this historic boutique offers an incredible location and delicious dining.
O'Callaghan Stephen's Green

O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The O'Callaghan Stephen's Green is a historic property in a convenient location right off the corner of the central park, St. Stephen's Green. Spacious, clean rooms have updated amenities such as flat-screen TVs, European and U.S. plugs, and electronic safes. Decor is contemporary with colorful touches of purple. The cozy library offers a great spot to sit with a book by the fireplace on a cold day. Additional hotel amenities include a 24-hour business center, well-equipped fitness center, and solid bar. However, the hotel does charge for Wi-Fi and some bathrooms are in need of a facelift.
Camden Court Hotel

Camden Court Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Camden Court Hotel is a 266-room property with a convenient location in Dublin's south side. Rooms are clean and got refurbished in 2012. Room amenities include flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, and free Wi-Fi. The highlight of this hotel is the leisure center that includes a heated lap pool, a large full gym, massage clinic, salon, sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi. While the leisure center is a perk, the location is the biggest reason to choose Camden Court. Dublin's most popular sights and nightlife are within easy walking distance, along with local pubs and restaurants.
Harrington Hall

Harrington Hall Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Harrington Hall is a 30-room hotel set in a historic Georgian building. The rooms are dated, with lower-quality bedspreads and patterned curtains, but they are spacious and clean. Room amenities include electric kettles and, in some rooms, flat-screen TVs. One highlight is the residence lounge, a classically decorated living room with a fireplace and computer for guest use. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in public areas, and the location is near many restaurants and some of Dublin's best nightlife. Overall cleanliness and a certain traditional charm make this a decent mid-range option, for the price.
Buswells Hotel

Buswells Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 67-room, mid-range Buswells Hotel has a homey vibe. The property consists of five townhouses, and there are cozy furnishings in both the public spaces and guest rooms. Sizes of rooms vary even among the same category, but all have flat-screen TVs, comfy beds, and electric kettles. The hotel is located in the city center near many tourist attractions, but it's still quiet. The on-site Trumans Restaurant receives good reviews and the bar is a sophisticated spot to grab coffee or a cocktail. Note that the fitness center is tiny and oddly configured and parking is only free during overnight hours at a nearby lot.
