Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino Rating: 4.0 Pearls

A comfortable, modern getaway for families with a great pool, gym, spa, and casino, the Marriott Resort is fancier than its only neighbors, the Marriott Surf Club and the Marriott Ocean Club. This Marriott is a bit farther from the airport than most Aruban resorts, but it's only a three-minute walk to the High Rise complex.
My Aruban Home

My Aruban Home Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Walking distance to Aruba’s High Rise hotel strip, the four-room My Aruban Home is the antithesis of its nearby resort-style neighbors -- and that’s exactly what it’s aiming for. Run by a retired husband and wife team, this spot is full of extremely mindful amenities like car rides to familiarize you with the island, guest-curated Aruba guides, and a barrage of in-room comforts all purposed at making you feel like a well-taken-care-of family friend. There’s no pool, restaurant, or bar but it’s the ideal place to feel like a local without lifting a finger -- or spending too much cash.
MVC Eagle Beach

MVC Eagle Beach Rating: 3.0 Pearls

MVC Eagle Beach is a mid-range 19-room boutique across the road from Aruba’s famous Eagle Beach. It is mostly made up of contemporary (if snug) Double Rooms, though there are a few larger adjoining rooms, making this a nice option for couples, small families, or groups looking for a beachside bargain -- the free breakfast doesn’t hurt either. While the small and shallow pool isn’t good for much more than dipping, there’s plenty of space to grab some sun, a bite to eat, or a drink. Some people find noise to be a problem, but if you can wear earplugs, this quaint beachside pick is hard to beat for the price.
Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - Beach Resort & Casino

Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - Beach Resort & Casino Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Holiday Inn is a family-friendly beachside resort with a decent fitness center, day spa, and nice pool. It could be a bargain, but the rooms are a little basic and the service is definitely hands-off. Fortunately, the upscale High-Rise shopping complex, just across the street, has loads of great restaurants and bars.
Caribbean Palm Village Resort

Caribbean Palm Village Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Caribbean Palm Village Resort is a 170-room time-share resort on the north side of Aruba. Slightly away from the tourist-heavy High Rise and Low Rise areas, this mid-range spot is ideal for those seeking a quiet Aruban vacation and who don't mind sacrificing easy beach access. The resort has two pools, hot tubs, a restaurant and bar area, tennis courts, and a casual spa, but it's pretty dead a few hours before midnight. Rooms are spacious with nicely equipped kitchenettes or kitchens, and even the non-renovated rooms are clean and in decent shape. However, if you are looking for any type of scene or want to frequent the beach, there are similarly priced options closer to the action, such as the MVC Eagle Beach.
Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino

Tropicana Aruba Resort & Casino Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Tropicana Resort & Casino is a mid-range resort property with 362 kitchen-equipped suites and a location a five- to 10-minute walk from Palm Beach, restaurants, and bars. With waterslide and waterfall pools, a small spa, small casino, glass-walled gym, beach tennis courts, and two on-site restaurants and bars, this resort is geared toward families on a budget. However, despite some renovations, this property is fairly dated, with musty rooms and plastic bathrooms (further renovations are scheduled for 2015). It’s a borderline decent budget option (for the price) though it's also worth considering the Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort and La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino.
Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa

Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Sporting two large pools, exotic landscaping (with caged parrots), a top-notch spa and fitness center, and a long beach where kids and teens run wild, the Radisson is an excellent value, especially since its $26 million renovations were completed in October 2011 of all guestrooms, the casino, and all other common areas. Plus, the location is ideal; ample restaurants and places to party, on-site and off.
