This Mediterranean-style hotel and spa is tucked away in the hills of northern Barbados. Although it lacks oceanfront property, it has something other area hotels don't: Scenic wildlife such as green monkeys, warblers, and roosters roam freely on the expansive property. All-inclusive packages are available, although there is only one restaurant, La Salsa, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (A “rum shop” is also on premise, though open hours are limited.) One- and two-bedroom suites are clean and include kitchenettes, but lack natural light and some modern amenities (such as iPod docks). A large outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, art gallery, nature trail, and beach shuttle may help guests forget about the inland location.
