Hotel Teatro

Hotel Teatro Rating: 4.5 Pearls

This 110-room luxury boutique, located in a historic building across the street from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, has sophisticated (if smallish) rooms, a locally-inspired restaurant, a grand marble lobby, and theatrical costumes displayed on the walls. But it lacks some amenities you'll find at larger luxury properties, including a spa and pool.
The Oxford Hotel

The Oxford Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Oxford is one of Denver's most notable historic hotels, ideally located in the lively LoDo neighborhood and in close proximity to area hot spots. Many of the 80 individually decorated rooms include luxe touches like claw-foot bathtubs, pillow-top mattresses, or bath butler service. Modern updates like free Wi-Fi, iPod docks and flat-screen TVs are standard, but some guests have found some of the room styles to be a bit stuffy and outdated. Despite the lack of a pool, the hotel offers ample entertainment with its beautiful two-story spa and The Cruise Room Bar, Denver's oldest bar.
Magnolia Hotel Denver

Magnolia Hotel Denver Rating: 3.5 Pearls

This upper-middle-range boutique hotel in downtown Denver is housed in a historic building, but inside, it's stylish and contemporary. The rooms are on the small side, but come with up-to-date technology, and high ceilings and large windows make them seem bigger than they are. The hotel offers some great freebies, including a nightly cookies and milk bar, evening happy hours, a 24-hour fitness center (to work off the cookies and milk), Wi-Fi, and a breakfast buffet every morning. There is, however, no pool, unlike at the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Downtown.
Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn

Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast is an eight-room inn set in an historic building on Millionaires Row in the Museum District of downtown Denver. This family-run inn offers free home-cooked breakfast and evening wine service for guests. Rooms are individually decorated in an ornately traditional style with antique furnishings, and some have fireplaces, hot tubs, or private balconies. Guests are in the heart of Denver's Capitol Hill Neighborhood, within walking distance of restaurants, theaters, and museums, as well as a bus stop. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. Rates are reasonable considering the location and historic setting. Travelers seeking a more modern -- yet still unique -- setting with similar rates could try the Crawford Hotel and Spa located inside Denver's Union Station.
