One Ocean Resort Hotel & Spa

One Ocean Resort Hotel & Spa Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The One Ocean Resort and Spa is a modern resort located directly on a calm white-sand beach. The 193 rooms have a lively, trendy feel with bright colors, contemporary decor, flat-screen TVs, floor-to-ceiling windows, and bathrooms with double shower heads. The spa is luxurious and couples-friendly, and the excellent kids' club has a marine biology theme. The hotel also has a full range of infant amenities on hand, including cribs, bottle warmers, and baby suntan lotion. Despite the extensive kids' offerings, the property tends to draw more couples than families. It's one of the chicest (albeit priciest) options in the area.
Omni Jacksonville Hotel

Omni Jacksonville Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Omni Jacksonville Hotel is a convenient pick for anyone who needs to stay downtown. The 354 rooms are typical for an upper mid-level chain, featuring comfortable bedding, large bathrooms, and sophisticated if slightly generic decor. Outdated tube TVs are still found in some rooms, but rooms are spacious and offer stocked minibars and great city views. Hotel highlights include an attractive rooftop pool and sundeck, decent fitness center, and bright, spacious lobby. There is a bistro and bar on-site and 24-hour room service is available. Omni is located near many of Jacksonville's attractions, but there is a pesky daily fee for Wi-Fi.
The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach

The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach Rating: 4.0 Pearls

Located down the road from its amenities-packed sister property, the Mediterranean-inspired Lodge & Club occupies a quiet, uncrowded beachfront. There are beautiful ocean views from balconies and romantic window seats in each of the hotel's 66 rooms. Room perks include flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and Keurig coffeemakers. Bathrooms are particularly luxurious, with a deep soaking tub and separate shower. Additional property features include a fitness center and two good -- but pricey -- restaurants and lounges. Both Wi-Fi and daily afternoon tea are free, and there are two outdoor pools, one just for adults.
Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront Rating: 3.5 Pearls

This huge upper-mid-range chain hotel caters mostly to the business traveler, with a decent seafood restaurant on-site, a nice fitness center, FedEx business services (fee based) and lots of meeting space, and a rooftop pool with river views. Rooms, though clean and high-tech (flat-screen TVs, iHome docks), have somewhat bland and generic decor that feels slightly subpar for a Hyatt Regency hotel -- but most have great river views and all come with comfy beds. Watch out for extra charges for Wi-Fi and parking.
Best Western Oceanfront - Jacksonville Beach

Best Western Oceanfront - Jacksonville Beach Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The highlight of the 51-room Best Western is its oceanfront location, and free perks such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking make it a great value. Room decor is sleek and fresh -- if not particularly stylish -- with dark furniture, bright white linens, and navy accents. And all rooms feature mini-fridges, microwaves, and flat-screen TVs. Extra amenities are limited here; there is a small outdoor pool (bordered by the street and a parking lot), and a fitness center that is a three-minute walk away. But for the price, it's a great value -- and the in-room massage treatments (for a fee) are an added luxury for such a budget-friendly hotel.
Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville Beach

Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville Beach Rating: 2.5 Pearls

The Holiday Inn Express has all the standard amenities of a mid-range chain hotel: a small but pleasant pool with lounge chairs, a tiny but up-to-date fitness center, and generic decor with funky patterned carpets throughout. However, the spacious, modern rooms (most of which have a microwave and mini-fridge), and the great freebies (Wi-Fi, breakfast, self-parking) add to the value. Families often prefer the Kid Suites, with a separate room with colorful bunk beds and a flat-screen TV. The beach, however, is a sketchy 15-minute walk away; if a beachfront stay is a priority, consider the Best Western Oceanfront Jacksonville Beach (for slightly higher rates).
