Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay

Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The sprawling Secrets Wild Orchid is one of the more luxurious adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Montego Bay, and has a laundry list of property features, including eight restaurants and five bars, and a host of activities: a theater, a spa, a water sports and dive center, a shopping center, and a casino. But the resort shares virtually all of its amenities with the next-door Secrets St. James, and some of the best amenities and freebies are reserved only for the VIP guests staying in the “Premiere” part of the resort.

Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica

Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica Rating: 3.5 Pearls

A massive, beautifully landscaped 700-room Spanish mega-resort, the Grand Bahia is great for families or couples, but it's a pretty tame crowd--even with all-night karaoke and access to a nude beach. The huge, slightly dated rooms come with Jacuzzis, the streaming pool is superb, and the restaurants are better than at most all-inclusives.

Grand Lido Negril

Grand Lido Negril Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Grand Lido's great liquor, decent food, 24-hour room service, intimate setting, and naked hot-tub parties bring a little grown-up indulgence to the more traditional, family-focused all-inclusive resort scene. However, that indulgence comes with a rather over-inflated price tag and the guest rooms are showing considerable wear -- Couples Swept Away is often the better deal.

Iberostar Rose Hall Beach

Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The least expensive of Montego Bay’s Iberostar trio, this upbeat, and at times rowdy, all-inclusive megaresort features tons of amenities -- four restaurants, four bars, water sports, a spa, a theater, a casino, a nightclub, and an awesome kids' club -- all for seriously affordable rates. The rooms may be small, the decor may be outdated, and the grounds may be packed to the brim at times, but it's one of the best values on the island.

Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort And Spa

Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort And Spa Rating: 3.5 Pearls

A mega-resort, the Grand Palladium feels like a shopping mall but is expansive enough for privacy, romance, and fun. It has five pools, large rooms, name-brand liquor, tasty breakfasts, mini-golf, and more--all for lower rates than lesser-equipped all-inclusives. But its remote locale comes with rocky, man-made beaches.

Riu Montego Bay - All Inclusive

Riu Montego Bay - All Inclusive Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Opened in September 2008, the Riu all-inclusive mega-resort provides ample and eclectic food, name-brand liquor, a great beach, a 24-hour sports bar, a huge pool, a modern gym, a free liquor-stocked minibar, and an array of water sports. But guests can feel pretty anonymous in the crowded 681-room property.

Negril Tree House Resort

Negril Tree House Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 70-room Treehouse is about the most relaxed hotel in Jamaica, almost to a fault. There’s only a skeleton crew on staff at night, and rooms feature little more flat-screen TVs. But most guests don't seem to care, once they're swinging on a porch hammock overlooking Jamaica’s best beach. Plus, great bars and restaurants are right next door.

ClubHotel Riu Negril

ClubHotel Riu Negril Rating: 3.0 Pearls

A friendly resort with a mellow beach, free minibars, and a surprisingly solid buffet -- the Riu Negril is a great value. Rooms aren't spectacular, and many activities require a long walk across the sprawling resort, but most guests are sold once they join revelers on the dance floor.

Sunset Beach Resort & Spa

Sunset Beach Resort & Spa Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The all-inclusive, 430-room Sunset, which features a kids' club and an impressive water park, could be a decent family destination -- were it not for the decidedly adult drinking contests, nude beach, and late-night parties. This barely mid-range property is dated, and room amenities are scarce, inconsistent and cheap, but it’s an acceptable budget option for those who need little more than a bed and a nice beach. The Sunset Tower was renovated in 2011, and rooms have upgraded amenities, including flat-screen TVs, newer bathrooms, and nicer decor.

ClubHotel Riu Ocho Rios

ClubHotel Riu Ocho Rios Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Huge, even among mega-resorts, the 846-room hotel is more about quantity than quality: seven restaurants, six bars, three pools, a nightclub, a private beach surging with water sports, and hordes of guests raring to party. Rooms are mediocre, and a bad a la carte restaurant reservation system means most guests get stuck at the buffet.
