Town Hall Hotel

Town Hall Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Town Hall Hotel and Apartments is located in London's artsy East End. Striking design mixes Edwardian influences with 1930s art deco style and contemporary touches. This hotel first opened as a town hall in 1910 and many of the rooms, studios, and apartments have original period details. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and iPod docks. Bathrooms are especially luxurious, most with soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers. Vintage furniture and modern kitchens make these loft-style rooms both functional and inviting. Hotel amenities include a nice indoor pool, a fitness room, and a stylish Michelin-rated restaurant. While some guests might feel that the location is isolated from London's top attractions, the Town Hall Hotel offers great value for money in a hip neighborhood.

Brown's Hotel

Brown's Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

Brown's Hotel, located in prestigious Mayfair, is part of the luxurious Rocco Forte Collection. The hotel is made up of 11 historic Georgian townhouses and no two of the 117 rooms are the same. Spacious, elegant rooms have a soft, soothing color scheme along with stocked minibars, big flat-screen TVs, and upscale bathrooms (some have a separate soaking tub and walk-in glass shower). Hotel highlights include quality dining and drinking venues such as HIX at the Albemarle, the English Tea Room, and the Donovan Bar. With a spa and fitness center, Brown's has all the features guests would expect at this price point, but there's a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.

Harrington Court Apartments

Harrington Court Apartments Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Harrington Court Apartments is a residential-style property rather than a full-service hotel, and offers reasonable value studios and apartments in the heart of fashionable Kensington. There are no amenities per se, but management is flexible and seems happy to accommodate special needs. Apartments have spare contemporary style, but beware that some of them have been kept up better than others, and not all have washer/dryers or dishwashers.

Knightsbridge Green Hotel

Knightsbridge Green Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls

For a quick place to crash in a premier central West London location, this hotel is tolerable if you can get a deal. The hotel is showing serious wear and tear, and since the hotel advertises itself as a 4-star, rather than a budget, property, many guests walk away disappointed. Amenities are few: There's a business center and room service for breakfast, but little else. Prices are usually very inflated for what you get -- guests are better off spending their money elsewhere.
