Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel

Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The 400-room Sheraton is located in Downtown Myrtle Beach, attached to the convention center and close to the airport and great shopping. The rooms are comfortable, especially by Myrtle Beach standards, with high-quality bedding and microwaves (if generic decor). The large fitness center has modern machines and a yoga/Pilates area, but the tiny pool is sub-par and it is not always clean. This property caters mostly to business travelers, but it does draw some families due to its proximity to kid-friendly attractions like Broadway at the Beach. The actual beach, however, is a 10-minute walk away.
Sonesta ES Suites Myrtle Beach

Sonesta ES Suites Myrtle Beach Rating: 3.0 Pearls

This inland property looks a bit more updated than most of Myrtle Beach's other mid-range hotels, but its out-of-the-way location is a major nuisance if you're in town to hit the beach. It offers spacious rooms and suites with contemporary -- albeit generic -- decor, fully stocked kitchenettes, spotless bathrooms, and free W-Fi. There is a small pool and a basketball court, but all in all, the property is better suited for business travelers than families.
Hilton Garden Inn Myrtle Beach/Coastal Grand Mall

Hilton Garden Inn Myrtle Beach/Coastal Grand Mall Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Typically used by business travelers (or those who missed their flights), the 112-room Hilton Garden Inn is all about convenience, with a business center, a 24-hour mini-mart, a small fitness center, laundry facilities, and a location close to the airport. The room decor is fairly generic, but the plaid curtains and white comforters lend a homey, clean feel, and the microwaves, mini-fridges, and large flat-screen TVs are nice additions. Families vacationing in Myrtle Beach may prefer to stay in an oceanfront hotel, but this property does feature a small indoor pool and tiny outdoor pool with adjacent Jacuzzi.
Springmaid Beach Resort

Springmaid Beach Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Springmaid Beach Resort is a 485-room, mid-range property located south of the SkyWheel and the main tourist area on Myrtle Beach, offering a little more privacy and seclusion than other hotels. Business travelers can rely on the resort’s large conference center while multiple pools, two eateries, and a location right on the beach make Springmaid ideal for families. Rooms are modern, particularly for Myrtle Beach -- no tacky patterned bedding here.
Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach - Broadway @ The Beach

Hampton Inn Myrtle Beach - Broadway @ The Beach Rating: 2.5 Pearls

Located in the Broadway at the Beach complex, the 141-room Hampton Inn is in some ways a typical chain hotel, with no on-site restaurant (aside from the free breakfast area) and a small fitness center. But this Hampton Inn's rooms are a step above, with nicer-than-standard decor featuring bright red accent walls, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and large bathrooms. Though the hotel is not on the beach, as many Myrtle Beach hotels are, it is within walking distance of several restaurants and an amusement park, and it has two decent on-site pools.
