K+K Hotel Cayre

K+K Hotel Cayre Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This upscale and contemporary hotel is situated just off of the Boulevard Saint Germain, within walking distance of cafes, luxury shops, and popular attractions such as the Louvre. The 125 rooms are sophisticated and have thoughtful extras such as slippers, heated bathroom floors, and coffee/tea facilities -- though some are quite small. The wellness area with a sauna, massage services, and small fitness center is a rarity in this price range. It's worth comparing rates with the nearby (and comparable) Hotel Montalembert, though it lacks the K+K Hotel Cayre's wellness features.
Hotel Montalembert

Hotel Montalembert Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This oh-so-chic boutique hotel in the heart of Saint Germain's shopping district has 56 rooms and suites in a Parisian house-like setting. Exuding a posh atmosphere (with prices to match), Montalembert's decor combines high design with an understated palette of black, taupe, gray and bronze. The gourmet restaurant changes its menu monthly and has a sidewalk terrace -- perfect for people-watching in warmer months. In cooler months, the Library Bar is a cozy spot for impromptu meetings by the fireplace. Rooms are stylish with original artwork on the walls, striped carpets and crisp linens. Amenities include flat-screen TVs and iPod/iPad docks, bathrobes and toiletries from L'Occitane (suites come with Nespresso machines.) Breakfast, for a fee, can be served in the breakfast room or in rooms upon request. There is not a spa on-site, but higher-tier rooms can schedule in-room massages. The hotel is dog-friendly, and Wi-Fi is free.
Hotel de l'Empereur

Hotel de l'Empereur Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Hotel de l'Empereur is a 31-room boutique with jaw-dropping views of the imposing Hotel del Invalides. Elegant rooms are tastefully decorated with patterned wallpaper and dramatic drapes. This hotel was renovated in 2010 and now offers modern bathrooms with walk-in showers, as well as air-conditioning. Some rooms have balconies, and all have free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. The wonderful location is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, and the breakfast room has some outdoor seating. While there are no minibars, and breakfast isn't included in the nightly rate, the location, views, and classic decor make this hotel a solid mid-range pick.
Hotel du Champ de Mars

Hotel du Champ de Mars Rating: 3.0 Pearls

This charming, budget-friendly boutique hotel is situated in the 7th arrondissement, just off of the cobblestoned, cafe-lined Rue Cler and a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The 25 rooms are on the small side, but tastefully decorated in a traditional Parisian country-style decor. Metro line 8 is nearby, making it easy to access other attractions. Wi-Fi is free and the continental breakfast can be served in guest bedrooms or the breakfast area, but there are no other services to speak of (not unexpected in this price range).
Derby Eiffel Hotel

Derby Eiffel Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 43-room Derby Eiffel Hotel is a mid-range property offering affordable prices in a turn-of-the-century building with Eiffel Tower views. The furnishings are a mix of modern and old-world styles and there are a number of nice amenities including a quaint courtyard, classic mahogany bar and lounge, a charming breakfast room with stone walls, and a computer corner. Rooms have artwork inspired by Paris landmarks, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and in some, whirlpool tubs, and views of the courtyard or Eiffel Tower -- but can be tiny. There is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi. It may also be worth considering the similarly priced Hotel Duquesne Eiffel nearby, which offers free Wi-Fi and arguably better rooms.
Hotel du Cadran

Hotel du Cadran Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Hotel du Cadran has an excellent location in the 7th arrondissement near the Eiffel Tower. Rooms are on the small side, but are equipped with flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Contemporary decor utilizes clean lines with pops of color. There’s little in the way of amenities -- just a small business center with a couple of computers. One memorable feature is the striking breakfast room in a vaulted cellar with exposed-brick walls. A wonderful chocolate bar is located on the ground floor serving coffees and macarons. For location, design, and the chocolate bar, this hotel is a good pick.
Hotel Duquesne Eiffel

Hotel Duquesne Eiffel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Hotel Duquesne is a comfortable 34-room hotel in the 7th Arrondissement within walking distance to Left Bank tourist sites, such as the Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay. Blue awnings, gold signage, and outdoor tables adorn the entrance, while, on the inside, original wood-beamed ceilings take center stage. There are few communal areas, but guests can order a drink in the lobby lounge, or have breakfast (for a fee) in the underground room with original stone walls. Rooms are bright and come in standard, comfort, and superior sizes -- all with flat-screen TVs and minibars. The best ones are located on the top floor -- specifically 54 and 55 -- and include balconies (standing only) with direct views of the Eiffel Tower.
