Turim Iberia

Turim Iberia Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Turim Iberia is far from most major attractions, but it’s around the corner from Campo Pequeno metro stop, and offers good value for money. It is a typical small chain hotel, with few on-site amenities -- there's not much more than a business center and an adequate restaurant. The clean, quiet rooms have understated contemporary decor in shades of gray and beige, and feature flat-screen TVs, minibars, and double glazed windows. Perks such as free Wi-Fi, a decent breakfast included in the nightly rate, and proximity to public transport add to the value.
VIP Grand Lisboa Hotel & Spa

VIP Grand Lisboa Hotel & Spa Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The 295-room VIP Grand Lisboa is a mid-range hotel outside of Lisbon's city center. Though tourists may not love the location -- unless they are visiting the nearby bull ring -- the hotel attracts numerous business travelers who are working in the area and want close proximity to the airport. Hotel features include eight meeting rooms, a small spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool. There are also two restaurants, one serving a breakfast buffet and the other serving lunch and dinner in an upscale setting with dim lighting. Rooms are contemporary; all have sleek, dark wood furniture and large flat-screen TVs, but they are on the small side, and the lack of full shower wall or curtain makes it difficult to bathe (there is a privacy shade for the glass wall the shower shares with the room, at least). All in all, this hotel is a solid upscale option for those who do not need to stay in the city center (a metro stop is just a three-minute walk away).
VIP Executive Villa Rica

VIP Executive Villa Rica Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 171-room VIP Executive is a mid-range hotel outside of Lisbon's city center. Though tourists may not love the location -- unless they are visiting the nearby bull ring -- the hotel attracts business travelers who are working in the area and want close proximity to the airport. The hotel has numerous amenities: an indoor pool, a fitness center, a small business center, and two restaurants, as well as a coffee shop that is often bustling in the mornings. Rooms are clean but bland; they feature blonde wood, IKEA-like furniture, and tube TVs. Its extensive list of features still makes it a solid choice, but it's worth comparing rates with the Villa Rica's more upscale sister hotel, the VIP Grand Lisboa, which offers more contemporary rooms and a small spa.
