Best Western Plus Inn of Santa Fe

Best Western Plus Inn of Santa Fe Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Best Western Plus Inn underwent a renovation in 2010 -- and the rooms Southwestern decor and comfy beds reflect that. But some things were left untouched, such as the old tube TVs guests may find in some rooms. The hotel is not right in downtown, meaning you have to drive to get to the Plaza area. But for the price point, it's a standard Best Western with nicer decor and a few bonuses -- such as the attractive indoor pool area and pet-friendly policy.
El Rey Inn

El Rey Inn Rating: 3.0 Pearls

One of Santa Fe's most famous hotels, the El Rey Inn is a genuine slice of vintage New Mexico. Situated within a 10-minute drive of Santa Fe Plaza on the original Route 66, the El Rey is a throwback to the days of cross-country travel and motor inns. Housed in an adobe-style building erected in 1936 and several other newer wings, this mid-range hotel offers 86 Southwestern-style rooms, all with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs; some have kitchens and kiva fireplaces. A large outdoor pool is open in the warm months, and the hotel also has two hot tubs, a sauna, fitness room, and free breakfast (except in January and February). The El Rey offers retro charm, an array of amenities, and lower rates than at the more lavish and centrally located Santa Fe hotels.
Santa Fe Motel and Inn

Santa Fe Motel and Inn Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Santa Fe Motel and Inn is a great value given its location near the popular Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. The spacious accommodations include rooms with kitchenettes along with more traditional casitas. Rooms are clean and in good condition, but are on the older side, and rooms near the busy Cerrillos Road can be noisy. A free hot breakfast is served in a semi-enclosed outdoor courtyard with a kiva fireplace. Travelers looking for a traditional Santa Fe property close to attractions will likely be happy here, but those who want a slightly more modern space can try the similarly priced Inn on the Paseo.
Silver Saddle Motel

Silver Saddle Motel Rating: 2.5 Pearls

The 17-room Silver Saddle Motel provides an economy roadside vacation with Southwestern touches, cowboy decor, free Wi-Fi, and on-site parking. The motel offers a gift shop, free continental breakfast, and an outdoor dining patio along with picnic areas. Rooms are named after Western characters and feature kitschy style (think: cowboy hats on the walls and patterned quilts on the beds), flat-screen TVs, and, in some cases, kitchenettes -- but this is a motel, so expect some datedness. The nearby El Rey Inn, which offers more hotel frills and rooms with fireplaces, is another option.
