Stella Palace Hotel

Stella Palace Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The 234-room upscale, all-inclusive Stella Palace Hotel offers constant entertainment for all ages. It is out of the way of the major tourist attractions, but there is so much to do at the resort. Kids programs are exceptional, and adults will enjoy the full spa, huge pool, and private beach surrounded by man-made jetties that create a peaceful swimming spot. Rooms are modern and clean (although decor is bland), and some suites and villas have private pools.

Bella Beach Hotel

Bella Beach Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This large, upscale property attracts both couples and families with its all-inclusive offerings and numerous on-site amenities. Although there are very few attractions within walking distance, two restaurants, a handful of pools, and a small spa cater to most, whilst all the attractions of lively Hersonissos are an easy taxi ride away from the hotel. However, numerous guests have complained of the quality of the food and wine, so guests may consider opting just for room rates instead.

Iolida Beach Hotel

Iolida Beach Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The 139-room upscale Iolida Beach Hotel is a two-building beachfront property just a 15-minute drive to Chania. However, one of the complexes isn’t along the beach and you have to cross a walkway over a busy road to reach the water and one of the two pools. All guest rooms are clean and spacious, and come with kitchenettes and a balcony; some have better views than others. It’s a good value, but be sure to stay in the northern complex if you want to be beachside.

Hersonissos Maris Hotel and Suites

Hersonissos Maris Hotel and Suites Rating: 3.5 Pearls

This all-inclusive resort sits along a (small) quiet beach, and the property boasts features such as numerous pools, tennis courts, and a spa area. Clean, bright rooms and suites have balconies with sea, pool, or garden views, but can nonetheless be disappointing due to bland decor and tiny bathrooms. Upgrading to a maisonette, however, can get you a private pool and extra goodies like free fruit and wine. There is also a small sandy beach below the property with a beach bar serving a range of drinks and ice cream.

Silva Beach

Silva Beach Rating: 3.5 Pearls

This all-inclusive property stands out from others nearby because it doesn't require wristbands and it is within easy reach of Hersonissos' attractions. Formerly an adults-only property, this mid-range now caters to children with family-friendly entertainment and numerous pools. Adults will likely enjoy the wellness area and the formal vibe created through evening dress codes. However, bland, small rooms leave plenty to be desired with hard mattresses and tiny showers.

Hotel Eleftheria

Hotel Eleftheria Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 66-room mid-range Hotel Eleftheria sits high up on a hill, providing gorgeous views of the Agia Marina. It’s a 15-minute walk to the beach, but the hotel offers a free shuttle service. The property has a large swimming pool, small but bright gym, and lovely landscaped grounds. Rooms are spacious and all have balconies or patios, but furnishings and decor are basic. It’s a solid, quiet option for travelers who don't mind being a bit removed from the beach.

Hersonissos Village Hotel

Hersonissos Village Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Hersonissos Village Hotel is a whitewashed, village-style property sprawling across a steep hillside, a 10-minute walk from a long sandy beach and 20-minute walk from the resort of Hersonissos. There is a big outdoor pool with panoramic sea views, a tennis court, and pretty gardens on-site. The restaurant and bar serves a buffet and drinks; it also offers serene terrace seating. Rooms are simple and clean, some have balconies with sea views, but the walk to the beach includes a steep hill and some rooms near the pool can be noisy.

Glykeria Rooms

Glykeria Rooms Rating: 3.0 Pearls

This nine-room, mid-range hotel is basic in its offerings, but most feel makes up for the lack of amenities with its family-run charm. Situated along the Mediterranean Sea, it offers breathtaking views, especially from each room’s balcony. There’s a small outdoor pool and an authentic Greek restaurant on-site, but don’t expect much else. It lacks Wi-Fi and TVs, and you need a car to travel to the nearby beach.

Village Panorama Hotel

Village Panorama Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 136-room, mid-range, all-inclusive Village Panorama Hotel sits on a hillside high above the sea. The hotel has two small pools, one of which is dedicated to relaxation (so is pristine and never crowded). Rooms are clean and large but basic, with balconies or terraces; many have sea views. Some have been updated with flat-screen TVs and others have not. There is neither a sports program or a kids club, and the beach is a 15-minute walk down a steep hill (however, the hotel provides a free shuttle). Guests repeatedly mention that the Village Panorama has a serious problem with overbooking, which causes stress at check-in.

Elmi Suites

Elmi Suites Rating: 3.0 Pearls

An eclectic collection of two older buildings grouped around a newer main building with two medium-sized heated freshwater pools, Elmi Suites is centrally located for the attractions of the lively resort area of Hersonissos. It attracts guests with its location and low rates; though it has a couple pools and beach access, the property overall is in need of an update and there are multiple problems with rooms (namely that they can be loud and some have no views). Budget-minded couples and families, however, will likely appreciate those with kitchenettes.
