Langham Hotel London

Langham Hotel London Rating: 5.0 Pearls

Luxurious, stately, and composed, this 380-room hotel projects an air of exclusivity. Certain amenities seem meager for a five-pearl luxury brand, however -- even the "complimentary" evening champagne is offered in conservative amounts and presented with a full champagne menu, presumably to encourage extra spending. But for a certain quintessentially English air of prestige without the usual pretension, and a premier location for West End shopping, this is a good place to be. The ultra-luxurious Chuan Spa, 16-meter pool, and salt sauna don't hurt its high-end credentials either.
The Landmark London

The Landmark London Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The 300-room Landmark is a beautiful and luxurious hotel located in the heart of aristocratic Marylebone. Key defining highlights are its spacious rooms, the fantastic central atrium with palm trees stretching up to a glass roof, and the sexy-and-sophisticated on-site restaurant. But the hotel's penny pinching puts a damper on the luxury feel -- basic amenities such as use of the indoor pool, fitness center, and Wi-Fi will result in additional lines to your bill.
The Montcalm London

The Montcalm London Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Montcalm is a luxury hotel situated on a relatively peaceful, residential street that is walking distance from the buzz and bustle of Oxford Street. The lobby, restaurants, and bar exude modern opulence, with chic, ultra-modern furnishings and luxe gold accents throughout. In-room amenities are also impressive. However the room decor doesn't quite reflect the caliber of the hotel. Rooms at the nearby The Arch hotel probably have a nicer finish, and the overall vibe is less stuffy, though it is lacking a spa or pool.
The Arch London

The Arch London Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Emphasizing design and luxury without sacrificing quality or service, this 82-room boutique hotel’s bold sophistication, classy personality, and ample luxury amenities enable it to stand out from the masses. Beyond the overall sexy decor, some attention-grabbers include an excellent restaurant, free minibar drinks, and even soaking tubs with built-in TVs (in most rooms). It is a boutique property, though, so room square footage is definitely not on the spacious side, and there's no pool or spa on-site.
The Marble Arch by Montcalm

The Marble Arch by Montcalm Rating: 4.5 Pearls

The 42-room upscale Marble Arch by Montcalm is the smaller sister property of the luxurious Montcalm Hotel located across the street. Housed in a small townhouse, the modern boutique hotel offers an equally luxurious experience, though at slightly lower rates and with fewer in-house amenities (guests can use the Montcalm’s spa, fitness center, pool, and restaurants). The contemporary rooms are small but elegantly appointed with scent machines and large flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi, bottled water, and fruit. Breakfast, served in a pleasant sunlit dining room, is available for an additional fee. The central location is close to the tube station and is a short walk to Oxford Street, though there are many other hotels in the area and it’s worth comparing rates.
Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill Rating: 4.5 Pearls

This business-oriented luxury hotel is located right on Portman Square in London's posh West End. The 434 rooms are contemporary, but some might find them a tad plain given the hotel's advertised five-star status. The Churchill Bar and Terrace is stylish and trendy, and dining options include Italian cuisine at the Michelin-star Locanda Locatelli and local British fare at The Montague. Still, it's also worth considering competing hotels nearby; London Marriott Park Lane has a beautiful indoor pool, and The Arch London has more stylish rooms and a boutique setting.
Thistle Marble Arch

Thistle Marble Arch Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Thistle Marble Arch is a classy and sophisticated 692-room hotel with an Art Deco theme. The central lobby is striking with a stained glass feature and plenty of lounge space. The rooms could use a bit of work, though a scheduled refurbishment and rebranding effort in mid-2014 could indeed do the trick. There is fresh prepared food offered to-go at the Delicacy counter and the hotel offers a great location just behind Marble Arch station, but there is no spa and limited gym facilities, and some guests complain about noise in street-facing rooms.
