The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort is an elegant property located in a residential area off County Road 31. It is a golfer’s paradise, with two acclaimed golf courses on-site. For the non-golfers, there are four lighted tennis courts, an award-winning restaurant featuring reginal American cuisine, and a large pool with poolside service. While the rooms are large (starting at 470 square feet) and have classic decor and modern amenities, they’re a tad bland and feel less luxurious than those at other Ritz-Carlton properties. The beach and spa (with over 30 treatment rooms) are both located at the sister property, located a short drive away (free shuttles run every half hour).
The Inn on Fifth

The Inn on Fifth Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The 87-room Inn on Fifth is a boutique option that is as glitzy as its surroundings. An impressive marble lobby with big chandeliers sets a luxurious tone, and there is great on-site dining at Trulucks restaurant. The rooms (renovated in 2012) feature stylish decor in a black and white color palate with pops of red. They are spacious and feature oak furniture, comfy sofas, high-end bedding, iPod docks, and plenty of natural light. The outdoor pool area is attractive, but the prime location in the thick of Fifth Ave's famous shopping and high-end dining is what draws most guests. Additional hotel features include include McCabe's Irish pub, and the Spa on Fifth. Rates are typically on the higher side here, though, and the beach is a 10-minute walk away.
Hilton Naples

Hilton Naples Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The grounds of Hilton Naples hotel conjure those of an ‘80s-inflected Spanish villa -- grandiose, with a few dated touches. Guests comment that the beds in the 199 rooms are comfortable and the amenities, which include a large fitness center and fairly pricey steakhouse, generally outweigh the inconvenience of the property’s distance from the beach and slightly outmoded aesthetic. There’s also free shuttle service to the beach with free towels, lounge chairs, and water. The hotel is situated a short walk from a luxury pedestrian shopping mall as well.
Bellasera Hotel

Bellasera Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The 100 apartment-style rooms here are essentially individual condominiums, with most of the comforts of home, including full kitchens, washer/dryers, and screened-in porches. The property consists of three-story stucco buildings in an earthen-colored rose, and there’s a vague nod, architecturally, to the structure of an Italian villa. A particular advantage of the hotel, besides guest-room conveniences, is its proximity to Fifth Avenue, which constitutes one of the main luxury shopping and dining drags in this upscale community. Shops from Chico’s to Starbucks are within a 10-minute walk of the property.
Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel Naples

Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel Naples Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Doubletree Suites Hotel in Naples is a step above other hotels in its price range. From the grand lobby with high ceilings and chandeliers to the homey-feeling suites with wrought-iron headboards and bright walls, this hotel seems resort-like and relatively upscale, despite its location just off of a busy street (unfortunately, some suites look out onto the parking lot). The clean, secluded pool area sits right above a nature preserve, and the fitness center is small but modern, featuring cardio machines with attached TVs. Freebies such as Wi-Fi and parking are nice extras, as are the two on-site restaurants (one with outdoor seating).
Bayfront Inn 5th Ave

Bayfront Inn 5th Ave Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Bayfront Inn has a quaint and convenient location on 5th Avenue, near shops and restaurants and overlooking Naples Bay. The 91-room hotel is a step above some nearby hotels in a similar price range: It has stylish rooms with classic decor and modern bathrooms, a secluded tree-surrounded pool area with a nice water feature, and numerous rooms with attractive bay views. However, the pool is small, there is no fitness center, and only suites have mini-fridges and microwaves.
Edgewater Beach Hotel

Edgewater Beach Hotel Rating: 3.5 Pearls

Set along a seven-mile strip of white sandy beach, the 125 rooms here -- each with a kitchenette that has a coffeemaker and full-sized fridge though no stove -- are designed to hold between four and six people. The units are laid out like small condominiums, with pull-out couches and separate living rooms in most. The beach-view rooms are especially pleasant, guests say, while there are also complaints that some of the non-renovated rooms contain shabby furniture. Two heated outdoor pools, one large and one small, buffer the hotel from the beach, and the property sits within walking distance of convenience stores and restaurant options.
Inn at Pelican Bay

Inn at Pelican Bay Rating: 3.5 Pearls

The Inn at Pelican Bay is an upper-middle-range property located close to the interstate, as well as various beaches and golf courses. The 100 rooms are fairly generic in appearance for a boutique hotel, but they look modern and offer plenty of space, along with comfortable beds. Room amenities include mini-fridges, microwaves, and in some rooms, lake views from nice balconies. Independent ownership sets the property apart from other options in the area. This hotel might not offer a beachfront location, but it does offer a free lakeside breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking, and bike rentals.
Inn of Naples

Inn of Naples Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Inn at Naples is a 99-room, mid-range property offering clean, modern accommodations that are quite affordable compared to nearby hotels. Guest rooms are spacious and colorful, with balconies, mini-fridges, and flat-screen TVs. With free continental breakfast and parking, an outdoor pool, and a pretty entranceway with colorful flowers and palm trees, the hotel provides a comfortable home base for tourists. A no-hassle hotel, it's in close proximity to points of interest such as the beach, downtown Naples, 5th Avenue South, and the zoo. The fitness center is very small, and there's no on-site dining other than breakfast.
BEST WESTERN Naples Inn & Suites

BEST WESTERN Naples Inn & Suites Rating: 2.5 Pearls

The Best Western Naples Inn & Suites is not quite what one would expect from a budget chain hotel: tropical gardens complete with koi ponds, lend a boutique hotel atmosphere to daily activities like eating breakfast and swimming. For its size, the hotel offers an impressive setting with two pools and two hot tubs, mini golf, and a lovely outdoor patio. There are Standard Rooms with flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges, Suites with cozy seating areas, and Apartments with full kitchens; some have patios overlooking the pool. The hotel is within walking distance of a supermarket, and a short drive from beaches, Naples Pier, and downtown. It beats out the prices of beachside hotels, which can be twice the rate per night, but the rooms here could use a refresh.
