Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa

Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This upscale resort is easily the top option in Pismo Beach, with an oceanfront location, a farm-to-table restaurant, and a lovely full-service spa. The property was formerly a condo building, and all the rooms are big, sophisticated suites with full kitchens. It's hard to find fault, and most guests find little to complain about. But it is worth noting that there is no direct beach access (there's a staircase just north of the property) and that there is a nightly resort fee (though it covers a lot, including bike rentals and beach chairs).
SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel

SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The 158-room SeaCrest Oceanfront Hotel is a retro, colorful oceanfront property with a big outdoor pool and three hot tubs. Geared towards families and couples, this Pismo Beach hotel is affordable, but does not have amenities -- such as room service or a fitness center -- that some guests might expect. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated in a sunset color palette of oranges and golds. Some rooms have ocean views and terraces. The hotel is pet-friendly, but some guests complain about barking dogs in the pet friendly wing.

BEST WESTERN PLUS Shore Cliff Lodge Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Perched on a 90-foot cliff overlooking the ocean, Best Western Plus Shore Cliff Lodge is a mid-range chain hotel with large rooms, all with ocean views. There are also a large outdoor pool and whirlpool, which offer beautiful views. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate, but there’s no restaurant or bar on-site. Guests might also want to check out the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel, a comparable property with direct beach access from its pool area.
Pismo Lighthouse Suites

Pismo Lighthouse Suites Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Situated in the bluffs and a short walk down to Pismo Beach, Pismo Lighthouse Suites is a mid-range hotel with 70 spacious, homey rooms, each with two bedrooms and two baths. The hotel has an outdoor pool and hot tub with beautiful views of the ocean, and a play deck with games available. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate, but there’s no restaurant or bar on-site. Pismo Lighthouse Suites is a good fit for families, but be aware that rooms are not air-conditioned. Guests might also want to check out the SeaCrest Ocean Front Hotel, a mid-range property with direct beach access from the pool area.
Kon Tiki Inn

Kon Tiki Inn Rating: 2.5 Pearls

This motel-style property is one of (and arguably the) most popular budget pick in Pismo Beach, offering beautiful views, affordable prices and a central location. The rooms may be a bit dated, but they all have sliding glass doors and face the ocean. The small pool also has a stunning outlook of the sand and sea. The direct beach access is a huge plus, and the free Wi-Fi, free fitness center access, and free continental breakfast add to the value.
