Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Resort, A Hyatt Residence Club

Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Resort, A Hyatt Residence Club Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Resort offers 44 spacious condo-style units complete with fully equipped kitchens. The property also has beach views that go for miles, and a variety of relaxing on-site features including a swimming pool and spa. The upscale hotel is located on a quiet and somewhat secluded island off of the coast of Sarasota and appeals to families and couples looking for a low-key beachfront getaway. No full-service restaurants are on-site, but there are a number of dining options within walking distance. It's one of the only upscale hotels in this particular area, so rates are a bit pricier than at other nearby hotels.
Tropical Sun Resort

Tropical Sun Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Tropical Sun Resort is a mid-range 18-unit property that's part of the three-resorts-in-one Tropical Beach Resorts. Tropical Sun offers modern, clean Designer Efficiency units, compact Studios, and Specialty Rooms; all have full kitchens and outdoor seating areas. Guests can use two heated pools with lounge chairs, and all of the outdoor dining and grilling areas throughout the tropically landscaped grounds. Less expensive than most nearby hotels, the property is not located directly on the beach, but is just a short walk away. Restaurants and bars are also within close walking distance.
Sara Sea Resort

Sara Sea Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Originally an individual hotel, Sara Sea Resort is now part of the Tropical Beach Resorts property comprised of Tropical Shores Beach Resort and Tropical Sun Resort. This 22-room mid-range hotel is less expensive than most of the nearby hotels, and while not directly on the beach, it is within walking distance of the sand. Suites, Specialty Rooms, and Studios all combine modern amenities with Floridian style and touches of luxury and comfort. While the resort does draw couples, there are plenty of families with children who tend to congregate at the outdoor pool. The hotel has barbecue facilities and lots of space for outdoor dining, including a tiki-style hut. There is no on-site restaurant or gym, and some rooms lack views.
Tropical Shores Beach Resort

Tropical Shores Beach Resort Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Originally a separate hotel, Tropical Beach Resorts now includes three hotels in one -- with 70 units total. The mid-range Tropical Shores offers 30 rooms, including modern studios and one- and two-bedroom suites, all with full kitchens, and most of which are ground-floor level. Guests have access to two outdoor pools with lounge chairs, and the grounds are laced with tropical gardens, lounge chairs on the lawn, a gazebo, picnic-style tables, and a tiki-style barbecue dining area. While not located directly on the beach, the property is within close walking distance on the same side of the street, and is less expensive than most of the nearby hotels.
Crescent Tower Beachfront

Crescent Tower Beachfront Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Crescent Tower Beachfront is a mid-range, 30-unit property with limited features and apartment-style rooms, located on the beach and within walking distance of restaurants. All rooms are studio apartments with full kitchens, living rooms, and patios or balconies -- ground-level studios have patios that open directly onto the beach. Decor is different in each studio, and some look more modern than others, but the overall look is somewhat dated -- loud tropical prints, tile or carpeted floors, and mismatched furnishings. There's a heated outdoor pool, and lighted shuffleboard on-site. Rates are comparatively lower than at other hotels in the vicinity, but guests will find more modern rooms and better features elsewhere -- still, those extras can cost up to three times what Crescent Tower charges for a stay on the beach.
Turtle Beach Resort Siesta Key

Turtle Beach Resort Siesta Key Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Turtle Beach Resort Siesta Key is a small upper-middle-range property that consists of 10 tropical cottages, located on the water. It's great for a romantic Florida getaway for outdoor enthusiasts. There are plenty of places to relax, from the heated waterfront pool to each cottage's private dock, and outdoor adventures to be had, including paddling through the waters over to the nearby Bird Keys. Cottages have full kitchens and their own private outdoor hot tubs, but are simply decorated and showing a bit of wear. Rates are comparable to other resorts in the area, but this property stands out for the romantic touches.
Siesta Key Bungalows

Siesta Key Bungalows Rating: 3.0 Pearls

The Siesta Key Bungalows hotel consists of 10 one-bedroom cozy bungalows in a quiet and relaxing section of Siesta Key, near Sarasota; it's a short drive (but far walk) from Turtle Beach. A good option for couples looking to escape, the property offers a number of outdoor activities including a pool, free kayaks and bicycles, and walking trails. Rooms are quaint and beach-y, if a tad dated, and have kitchenettes. The nearby Banana Bay Club is also worth considering, as it's consistently cheaper and is walking distance to Crescent Beach.
