The Greenwich Hotel

The Greenwich Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

This virtually flawless 88-room TriBeCa hotel (opened in 2008 by Robert de Niro, among others) offers large, homey rooms, breathtaking design, and very attentive service. Even better: free Wi-Fi; free minibar snacks; and free Wii video games by request. Better still: an underground pool; Shibui Spa; premier gym; and the homestyle Italian Locanda Verde restaurant.
Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel

Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This 369-room downtown property is centrally located within walking distance of major subway lines, luxe boutiques, top restaurants, and popular nightlife spots. The lobby is often bustling, due to its spacious lounge, small cafe, and free use of computer workstations and Wi-Fi. Though cookie-cutter in design, rooms are clean, and some offer great Manhattan views. However, the in-room Wi-Fi charge makes some guests feel as though they are being nickel-and-dimed, and the hotel offers few amenities.
Smyth Hotel

Smyth Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

Built from scratch in TriBeCa and opened in March 2009, the Smyth has excellent service, lots of downtown style, and a French restaurant on-site. With brighter, newer, and cheaper rooms, the Smyth outshines its well-known neighbor, the Tribeca Grand.
Tribeca Grand Hotel

Tribeca Grand Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

With spacious rooms, a lively lounge scene, and the occasional star-studded film screening, the Tribeca Grand is still a cool and comfortable place to grab a slice of urban hipsterism -- even if its cachet slips a little every time a new downtown boutique like the Bowery and the Standard opens up.
Cosmopolitan Hotel

Cosmopolitan Hotel Rating: 3.0 Pearls

Set on the border of Manhattan's trendy residential TriBeCa and the buttoned-up Financial District, the 131-room Cosmopolitan is a mid-range hotel with a stylish lobby and a boutique vibe. While the hotel lacks big amenities such as a restaurant and bar, it delivers on location and offers rates that are decisively lower than nearby competing hotels hotels (the Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca and Duane Street Hotel usually cost significantly more). Rooms are small and lack panache (as well as minibars), but great restaurants and bars can be found nearby.
Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca

Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca Rating: 3.0 Pearls

This modern Hilton Garden Inn delivers on all the brand hallmarks (free coffee and tea in the lobby, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry) - and then some. There's an on-site restaurant, AOA Bar & Grill, serving breakfast and dinner, and the A, C, E subway line, offering easy access to Times Square, Wall Street, and other popular sights, is literally right out the front door. Rooms are clean and functional, though some face an unappealing interior courtyard.
