Town Hall Hotel

Town Hall Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Town Hall Hotel and Apartments is located in London's artsy East End. Striking design mixes Edwardian influences with 1930s art deco style and contemporary touches. This hotel first opened as a town hall in 1910 and many of the rooms, studios, and apartments have original period details. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and iPod docks. Bathrooms are especially luxurious, most with soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers. Vintage furniture and modern kitchens make these loft-style rooms both functional and inviting. Hotel amenities include a nice indoor pool, a fitness room, and a stylish Michelin-rated restaurant. While some guests might feel that the location is isolated from London's top attractions, the Town Hall Hotel offers great value for money in a hip neighborhood.
The Royal Horseguards

The Royal Horseguards Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The 282-room Royal Horseguards offers classic Victorian architecture and modern amenities in a five-star luxury setting with views of the London Eye and the Thames River. Ornate sculpting, stunning high ceilings, and romantic archways are all dominant elements that complement a rich history -- the Royal Horseguards housed the Secret Service during World War I. The hotel, with a horse guards theme throughout, connects to One Whitehall Place, the palatial meeting and events space.
The Savoy

The Savoy Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Savoy is one of London's poshest grand dames, located on the exclusive Strand and rivaled only by other five-pearl greats such as The Goring and The May Fair. It has attracted an impressive roster of celebrity guests since its opening in 1889, and its excellent restaurants and bars -- including the famed American bar, once a haunt of Marilyn Monroe -- are destinations unto themselves. The 268 rooms are traditional, sophisticated, and understated, with either Art Decor or Edwardian decor influences, as well as modern tech features, optional butler service, and 24-hour in-room dining. It's hard to find fault with this iconic luxury property.
St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel

St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The 245-room St. Pancras Renaissance London is a romantic, dramatic hotel with a long history dating back to the Victorian era. High ceilings and period architecture were beautifully preserved during a £200 million refurbishment. The Booking Office Bar and Restaurant once served as the original ticketing office for neighboring St. Pancras Rail Station. Rooms are big with soaring ceilings and huge bathrooms, though character varies between the Barlow and Chambers sections of the hotel. Fees are high, for everything from Wi-Fi to filtered water.
Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments

Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments Rating: 5.0 Pearls

The Athenaeum Hotel is a luxury property located just across the street from beautiful Green Park in Mayfair, one of London's most exclusive central districts. With 164 rooms and 16 apartments, the upscale hotel offers an impressive whiskey bar, fine dining restaurant, and gym/spa facilities (free for guests). Rooms and spaces are colorful with custom modern furniture and a British theme throughout. The Athenaeum is also walking distance from many of London's top attractions, including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Trafalgar Square, but some guests feel the lower-category rooms are small, especially for the price.
Drayton Court

Drayton Court Rating: 4.0 Pearls

A hotel with Gothic turrets and a historical atmosphere, Drayton Court is one of the oldest hotels in the West London suburb of Ealing; with an historic pub downstairs, the 27 rooms have been converted into an upscale boutique hotel. Behind the traditional Victorian exterior, the modern and elegant rooms have fireplaces, free Wi-Fi, and French press coffee makers, as well as free-standing bathtubs in some. The hotel doubles up as a Fuller's pub, and the garden is one of the biggest beer gardens in the London area, popular with both locals and hotel guests. West Ealing train station is a minute's walk away and trains get you into Oxford Street in central London in under 30 minutes. There's no gym on-site, but you can use a nearby fitness center for free.
Park International Hotel

Park International Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

There's very little to criticize at this upscale hotel, which is located within walking distance of popular museums and Hyde Park. It offers a generous free breakfast, a somewhat uncommon perk in London. Rooms are airy and elegant; some incorporate lovely Laura Ashley design and have pleasant views of the Victorian-style street below. Expect to see families gathering over a lively breakfast in the hotel's Orchid Room, and more mature travelers enjoying happy hour at the hotel's Checkmate Bar. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby.
Go Native Earl's Court

Go Native Earl's Court Rating: 4.0 Pearls

Go Native Earl's Court is a swish, contemporary apartment hotel located in the Earl's Court area of West London. Apartments are fresh and contemporary with small but well equipped kitchens. Bathrooms too impress, with fun mosaic tiles, and some apartments have floor to ceilings windows letting in lots of natural light. There's little beyond the actual apartments, though the next door supermarket is useful for parking and supplies. There's not much in the aparthotel vein in the area and comparable hotels, such as the K+K Hotel George, are around the same price.
Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments

Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments Rating: 4.0 Pearls

As a popular serviced apartments accommodation located in quiet, upscale Bayswater, the upscale Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments is generally suited for longer stays. Don't expect top luxury, but there are spacious rooms, comfortable beds and new refurbishments on the way in 2014 -- including larger TV sets and new carpets in rooms.
The Rembrandt

The Rembrandt Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The Rembrandt Hotel is an upscale hotel located in the tourist-friendly area of South Kensington, a short walk from a handful of museums, galleries, and other sights. The stylish, modern hotel has 193 rooms with colorful decor and high-tech amenities, such as interactive TVs. The numerous property features include a full bar, lounge, and restaurant; guests also get discounted day passes to the gym, heated pool, jacuzzi, and sauna at the adjacent Aquilla Health and Fitness.
