An historic grande dame of a hotel that is slap-bang on the Place des Pyramides, the square with the golden Jeanne d'Arc statue, the Regina, even though renovated in 2014, retains the air of another era. The hotel is so classically French that it served as a location in movie "The Bourne Identity." It opened for the 1900 World’s Fair in a building constructed on the royal riding stables of the Louvre Palace. Facing the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens, and the Eiffel Tower on the opposite side of the Seine, Hotel Regina blends historic decor -- all the original ceramic tiles are in place -- with a sensitive upgrade that brings it well into the 21st century. Its 119 rooms and 15 suites have sumptuous tapestries, period furniture, and modern amenities such as flat-screen TV’s and free Wi-Fi. Guests might want to also check out the Regina's sister hotel, the Raphael, which is near the Arc de Triomphe.
