Royalton White Sands Resort Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Debuting in late 2013, the 352-room Royalton White Sands Resort is an stylish all-inclusive in Trelawny, just 30 minutes from Montego Bay. Rooms come with comfy pillow-top beds, mini-fridges, private patios, and large rainfall shower heads. Unfortunately, they also contain hip but cheap decor and many are already starting to show wear and tear. This upscale resort has multiple bars and restaurants (including a delicious jerk hut), large hydrotherapy spa, family-friendly features, two pools (one with swim-up bar), and a water park, though, some may be disappointed at the limited beachfront and late night bar options.
The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica

The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Attached to the Caribbean's best golf course, the Rose Hall Ritz offers traditionally top-notch food, service, facilities, bathrooms, beds...well, everything. The resort's a safe bet, but the small, rocky beach crowds in the winter and its on-site restaurants (the only food within a 15-minute drive) can cost a fortune.
Round Hill Hotel & Villas

Round Hill Hotel & Villas Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Round Hill is phenomenal. Sincere, intimate hospitality; private child care; large, beautifully designed rooms by Ralph Lauren; and breathtaking grounds (to which no photo can do justice) -- it is easily among the best resorts in Jamaica, even with a few mosquitoes and ants in the room.
The Caves

The Caves Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Arguably Jamaica's most romantic escape (for adults only), the Caves' 12 unique, private cottages and suites are tucked along lush garden paths and dramatic seaside cliffs (there's no beach). High-quality, locally focused cuisine, a top-shelf bar, and intimate, incredibly attentive service make it Jamaica's best all-inclusive, though nearby Tensing Pen and Rockhouse offer similar settings at cheaper prices.
Sandals Royal Plantation

Sandals Royal Plantation Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Quiet and classy, the colonial-style, 74-room, adults-only (18+) Sandals Royal Plantation snatched a prime patch of beach when it was built in the 1950s along with luxury icons Round Hill and Half Moon. Excellent food, service, beds, and spa -- it's Ocho Rios's best luxe for the buck, but you get more for your money at Half Moon in Montego Bay.
Half Moon, a RockResort

Half Moon, a RockResort Rating: 4.5 Pearls

Drawing everyone from Queen Elizabeth to 50 Cent, Half Moon strives for timeless, understated luxury (even at the swim-up bar). Stretching over 400 acres (including 2 miles of beach), the 230-room resort offers attentive service, quality cuisine, and seemingly limitless activities like golfing and horseback riding.
Rockhouse Hotel

Rockhouse Hotel Rating: 4.0 Pearls

The lush, laid-back Rockhouse creates a holistic haven -- gourmet dining, morning yoga, cliffside loungers, a premium spa, no kids under 12, and beautiful eco-appropriate design. But most astounding are the reasonable rates. (The slightly chicer Caves costs about three times more.)
Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort

Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort Rating: 4.0 Pearls

This large, 529-room upscale all-inclusive is adults-only, drawing many younger couples and honeymooners. The sprawling, 110-acre resort is split into two halves by the road, and jitneys run between the two lobbies regularly. The Riviera Seaside Village and Ochi Beach Club are both on the water, while the All-Butler Riviera Villas and Great House are set back in the gardens, and offer butler service. There are lots of restaurants, bars, pools, whirlpools, and activities (including an 18-hole golf course) on the premises, and it's a five-minute drive to downtown Ocho Rios for more spots to shop and dine. Just know that the beach isn't large and the hotel is an hour-and-a-half ride from the airport on the resort's free shuttle bus; those who prefer less travel time may want to compare rates at the smaller Sandals Montego Bay, and those in search of a better beach may want to consider the Sandals Negril Beach Resort.
Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn Rating: 4.0 Pearls

A small, romantic resort that once drew Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, the Jamaica Inn is about quiet luxury -- a single thatch-roofed bar, a small pool, and beautiful rooms with oversize terraces and soft, colonial décor. This is not the place to party (the whole resort typically shuts down by midnight).
Rose Hall Resort and Spa, a Hilton Resort

Rose Hall Resort and Spa, a Hilton Resort Rating: 4.0 Pearls

With modern features, professional service, and a huge on-site water park, this relaxed, beachside golf resort is more popular with somber families than rum-chugging partiers. Though the rooms are small, they feature flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, spa-quality bath products, great beds, and a powerful Wi-Fi signal -- all rare luxuries in Jamaica.
