Oyster Review Summary

Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

  • Wonderful location in the Pike Place Market
  • Sophisticated rooms with Hypnos beds and Sferra linens
  • Flat-screen TVs and iPod docks
  • Classic bathrooms with pedestal sinks and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries
  • 4 restaurants, including Korean and French options
  • Panoramic views from the rooftop deck
  • On-site salon, plus in-room massages available
  • Free Wi-Fi and a business center with free printing and copying services

Cons

  • Fee for valet parking
  • No fitness center (but passes to a nearby local gym)

Bottom Line

Inn at the Market is one of Seattle's best-known, and most popular, hotels, in large part due to its unbeatable location: It's the only hotel in the Pike Place Market, right in the heart of downtown Seattle. But the location isn't the only reason to stay; the hotel has a long list of great features, including four solid restaurants, a pleasant rooftop deck with stunning panoramic views, free Wi-Fi, and in-room massage service. Rooms are sophisticated and contemporary, if a tad bland for some tastes, and come with upscale conveniences, such as great Hypnos beds (with reading lights attached to the headboard), Sferra linens, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, and iPod docks.

Oyster Hotel Review

 Location

Half a block from Pike Place Market, within walking distance to major attractions in downtown Seattle

The Inn at the Market has an ideal location. It's half a block from the famed Pike Place Market, a hot spot known for its "three Fs" -- flying fish, flowers, and fabulous food. The hotel is right off First Avenue (the street that perches directly above sparkling Puget Sound and in front of the Olympic mountains), and many of the city's other top sights are only a two-to-five minute walk away, as are a buffet of restaurants and shops. First Avenue, which has several stairwells leading down to the city’s bustling waterfront, has long shed its ancient reputation as a seedy part of town, and now features some of the most eclectic boutiques, salons, restaurants, and coffee shops around.

Have a hankering for a dash of culture? Seattle Art Museum is down the street. Benaroya Hall -- the city’s premiere concert and opera venue -- is located only a hop, skip, and a jump farther.

  • 20-minute drive to Sea-Tac International Airport
  • Metro bus service along First Avenue
  • Half a block from Pike Place Market
  • 7-minute walk to Seattle Art Museum
  • 14-minute walk to the ferries
  • 7-minute walk to Seattle Aquarium
  • 5-minute drive or 21-minute walk to the Space Needle and Seattle Center
