The public areas of the Hotel Casa 1800 are chockfull of character and romance. The original details of the former mansion have been lovingly preserved: Arched doorways, wrought iron balustrades, beamed ceilings, and studded wooden doors nod to the building's architectural past. The hotel glows with golden light from exquisite chandeliers and sunlight streaming into the central courtyard. Guests are treated to free afternoon tea and cake in the comfortable lobby or on the rooftop terrace with a postcard-worthy view of Seville's Cathedral and historic bell tower, as well as a plunge pool. Old maps, busts, and candelabras are scattered throughout, and original brick walls and Spanish/Moorish tile work ensure that guests never feel like they’re in a McHotel.

Casa 1800 is nestled on a quiet, narrow cobblestone street that has seemingly not changed much since the building was built in 1864. Overlooking the neighboring Seville Cathedral and its historic bell tower, the hotel is ideal for visitors who want to see the city's major historic sights, which are located within walking distance. Other views from rooms and the rooftop deck include the Royal Alcázar fortress and the Santa Cruz district. A variety of tapas bars, cafés, restaurants and souvenir shops are nearby as well.

Rooms at the Hotel Casa 1800 have been lovingly restored with great attention paid to architectural detail. Exposed brick walls, studded wood shutters, parquet floors, gold-leafed furniture, and other antiques add atmosphere. Yet these stylishly traditional accents are offset by modern amenities like flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges. Comfortable beds are covered in Egyptian cotton sheets and the plumbing is ultra-modern, with some rooms providing access to private outdoor whirlpools. The hotel expanded to add nine new rooms in 2016. Keep in mind rooms near the street may get bar noise from outside.

Casa 1800's location and intimate atmosphere make up for the lack of amenities like a fitness center often found in chain hotels. The rooftop terrace is furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs as well as chaise longues, and there’s a plunge pool, added in 2016, for soaking tired tourist feet while gazing at the nearby cathedral and bell tower. There are also two solariums on-site. Every afternoon, the hotel serves free afternoon tea and cakes to guests. Additional beverages are freely available as well.
