The Domain Hotel is a 136-room converted motel in Sunnyvale that has been significantly spruced up -- colorful rooms have funky decor and high-tech gadgets, the pool is nice and secluded, and freebies include Wi-Fi and parking. Unfortunately this hotel can't escape its structure, with some rooms that only have windows overlooking the lobby and others that are subject to street noise. The hotel is convenient for business travelers and offers perks like iPod docks, flat-screen TVs, and an outdoor heated pool, but the fitness center is cramped and there have been some complaints of noisy air-conditioning and heating units. The stylish cafe and bar called Bytes is a nice touch and offers free breakfast.

The Domain Hotel is located in Sunnyvale, in the Silicon Valley. This residential and commercial area is best known as the home of Yahoo, and there isn't much here in the form of entertainment or culture. Most people visiting the area are in town for business, but there are also a few local attractions including two golf courses, restaurants along Murphy Avenue, and over 18 well-kept parks.
The hotel is on El Camino Real, also known as the California Mission Trail (this road is home to 21 historic missions). It is in the eastern region of Sunnyvale, just a short drive from Santa Clara.
