Cons

Bottom Line

The 299-room St. Regis Singapore is one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. From the extensive private art collection to the beautiful rooms, this hotel has incredible attention to detail. Rooms are comfortable and elegant -- even the standard executive deluxe rooms are spacious -- and feature floor-to-ceiling windows with great city views. High-tech amenities include bedside controls for drapes and lights along with big flat-screen TVs. Huge marble bathrooms have standalone soaking tubs and rainfall showerheads. Additional hotel highlights include a sleek outdoor pool, an indoor tennis court, a luxurious spa, a "Bentley Fleet" for car service around town, and butler service. There are also numerous on-site restaurants. However, there's a pesky fee for Wi-Fi.

Oyster Hotel Review

 Location

In the Orchard Road neighborhood, near downtown and upscale shopping

The St. Regis Singapore is a short drive from the center of the downtown area and Chinatown. Located on busy Tanglin Road (lined by high-end shops) this hotel is in the bustling Orchard Road area, known for shopping and entertainment. Most major attractions are a drive or subway ride away from the hotel.

Bustling Chinatown is located on the south bank of the river and is one of the major tourist destinations in town. The neighborhood has a lot of historical and cultural significance, and many of its buildings and streets have been declared National Heritage Sites. Surprisingly, it's also known for its nightlife scene, which draws crowds on weekends. One of the main attractions here is the night markets, with dozens of food stalls and vendors selling everything from flowers to clothes.

The Downtown area, right above Chinatown, is home to a number of high-end hotels, wonderful restaurants, corporate high-rises, and government buildings. It holds dozens of major attractions, including the Esplanade Park, the Padang, and a few interesting museums, as well as many public transport stops.
