Bottom Line

The Hilton St. Augustine is not a typical chain hotel -- this boutique option is full of character and charming touches that take design inspiration from the surrounding area. The 72 classic rooms feature intricately carved wooden headboards, comfortable beds, and in some, balconies with gorgeous bay views. Rooms with four-poster king beds stand out. While the outdoor pool area is on the smaller side, it offers great views of the bay and plenty of space to sunbathe. The central location is excellent for walking to the attractions of historic St. Augustine, and the restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and has outdoor seating available. Extra perks here include free Wi-Fi, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers with Lavazza coffee.

Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront

Location

On the bay in the heart of the historic district

The Hilton St. Augustine is conveniently located in the historic district, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and sights. St. Augustine is nicknamed the "Ancient City" and is the oldest continually occupied European-established city in the country. The city is known for its romantic vibe with streets lined by beautiful architecture. Some buildings date back to the 1600s while "newer" structures from the 19th-century still celebrate the Spanish Colonial style but on a larger and grander scale.

St. George Street is the main street of St. Augustine's historic district. Almost all attractions center around the city's history; Castillo de San Marco, the oldest masonry fort in the U.S., attracts visitors, as does the Markland Mansion, and even the original Ripley's Believe It or Not! is housed in a historic mansion. The historic district has a compact but lively nightlife with one of the most popular activities being ghost tours. Anastasia Park has some of the best beaches in the area, as well as a lagoon and several hiking and walking trails.

  • 10-minute drive to Northeast Florida Regional Airport
  • 62-minute drive to the Daytona Beach International Airport
  • 64-minute drive to the Jacksonville International Airport
  • 1-minute walk to the central area of the historic district
  • 4- minute walk to Castillo de San Marco
  • 8-minute walk to the Lightner Museum, an antiques museum
  • 11-minute walk to the historic Markland Mansion
  • 2-minute drive to the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, where Ponce de Leon is said to have landed
  • 6-minute drive to the St. Augustine Lighthouse
  • 6-minute drive to Anastasia Park's beaches
  • 7-minute drive to Vilano Beach
  • 26-minute drive to the World Golf Hall of Fame
