Photos and Review by

  • Great Central Business District location close to Circular Quay and The Rocks
  • Minimalist rooms are spacious and bright
  • Bathrooms have soaking tubs and separate showers
  • Attractive indoor pool and Jacuzzi
  • 2 trendy restaurants are accompanied by The Gallery and Inbargo bars; 24-hour room service
  • Modern, Zen-like spa with mood lighting and candles
  • 2 large conference rooms -- including the Whitely room
  • Fitness center with Life Fitness equipment, but it's small

  • Fee for Wi-Fi (and service is unreliable)
  • Fee for parking (self and valet)
  • Some rooms' windows face unattractive offices
  • Fees for extras such as bottled water feels like nickel-and-diming

Bottom Line

This bright, contemporary luxury hotel, located in the Central Business District, just south of The Rocks and Circular Quay, reflects Sydney's personality: relaxed and stylish. The bi-level lobby/lounge area features floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the city. The minimalist rooms have minibars, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and (in some) beautiful harbor or city views -- but a few are showing minor wear, and lower-level rooms look plain. One of the best features of the rooms are the modern tile bathrooms, which have walk-in showers and separate large soaking tubs. Outside the rooms, the hotel has two trendy restaurants and two bars, a tiny fitness center, a small but contemporary spa, and an attractive indoor pool. For business travelers, there are two large conference spaces that can accommodate up to 280 guests; leisure travelers will likely appreciate the location, within walking distance to popular sights.
