Located just off Hyde Park in Darlinghurst is an upscale, business-oriented property with many meeting spaces and a business center (though there's a fee to use the Internet). However, many guests feel it doesn't live up to its advertised five-star status. Though common spaces feel posh -- the lobby exudes class and sophistication with fresh orchids, marble floors, and a cozy guest lounge -- rooms are typical of a nicer Pullman hotels, with chain-like contemporary decor and flat-screen TVs. The kitchenette amenities, including microwaves, coffeemakers, and toasters, are a bonus, however, and some rooms have high-end bathrooms with soaking tubs. The classy Windows on the Park restaurant, with its beautiful views of Hyde Park, is worthy of a luxury hotel, as if the rooftop pool with great city views -- but the small fitness center, not so much.

Sydney Marriott sits right on Hyde Park in Darlinghurst, just east of the Central Business District. It's within easy walking distance of CBD destinations, as well as the restaurants, bars, and clubs on Oxford Street.
Sydney is Australia's most populous city and its cultural hub. Festivals, theater, fashion, and a famous opera house can all be found here, along with the retail and restaurants that naturally accompany them. The weather is excellent, with an average of 300 sunny days a year, and beaches are within a short drive from the city center.
