Near the Rogers Centre, within walking distance of numerous attractions
Located in Toronto's Financial District and blocks away from the Distillery District and Entertainment District, Hotel Germain is within walking distance of numerous attractions, including the Roger's Centre (home to Canada's only Major League Baseball team) that can be seen from the hotel.
Once an industrial park, Toronto's Entertainment District is now a bustling area filled with nightclubs, theaters, and music venues. Highlights include the Roy Thomson Hall, home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Film Festival, and the 12.7-acre Rogers Centre development that features the Toronto Blue Jays' stadium.
The nearby Financial District is composed of skyscrapers occupied by law firms, corporate headquarters, and offices, while the Distillery District is one of Toronto's historic gems. The district got its name from the Gooderham and Worts Distillery, formerly in operation in the area as the largest distillery in the world. Claiming the largest sample of Victorian-era architecture in North America, the Distillery District is a cultural hotspot that features numerous shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
This 167-room property, a part of the Maple Leaf Square complex, is a modern hotel with a convenient downtown location. The rooms come complete with modern amenities (large flat-screen TVs and iPod docks), cool open bathrooms (that can be made family-friendly with shades and doors), and sleek white-and-black decor -- although the muscle-centric photographs above the beds are a bit odd. The hotel has two cool lounges, but there is no restaurant -- and unlike at other luxurious downtown Toronto hotels, there is no pool.
