Bottom Line

Secret Harbor Beach Resort is an upscale boutique property located on Nazareth Bay on the East End of St. Thomas. The resort’s beach is truly a tropical paradise, with palm trees, hammocks, loungers, white sand, and turquoise water. The resort has two on-site restaurants and a lively beach bar. Guests have a choice of Studios or One- or Two-Bedroom Condos, and each has updated decor (except for some bedspreads) and fully equipped kitchens. All units are beachfront and offer great views. The pool is slightly off-site, a two-minute walk to another property, but with this beach, you won’t miss it.

Secret Harbour Beach Resort

Scene

Relaxing, serene, and private beach environment

The buildings at Secret Harbor are painted a tropical coral
color and have white balconies. The buildings and the lobby don’t look like
much, but the rooms offer an upscale surprise. The resort is located at the end
of a side street and is quiet and peaceful.

The beach is relaxing and scenic, and palm trees provide
lots of shade. The beach can get busy but due to the relatively long stretch of
sand, it does not crowded. The resort’s on-site bar and restaurant, Cruzan Beach Club,
is popular and lively, with both guests and outsiders grabbing a bite to eat or
a drink at the end of the day.

The units are ideal for groups or families looking for more
space and privacy than in a typical hotel setting. Folks coming for an extended
stay (more than a few days) would do well here because of the fully equipped
kitchens and home-style living.

Rooms

Studios, One-, and Two-Bedroom Condos with full kitchens

The rooms at Secret Harbor are individually owned and
decorated, although there are similarities in the layout. The decor in the
units is contemporary and stylish, yet functional. The condos we saw had light,
neutral paint on the walls, tasteful patterned couches and chairs, and modern
lighting. The kitchens are beautifully updated with colorful backsplashes,
marble counters, and stainless steel appliances, and have full-size
refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, dishwashers, dishes, and
cookware. The One- and Two-Bedroom Condos have a dining table for four; the Studio has two bar chairs pulled up to the kitchen island.

The bathrooms are updated as well with modern vanities, fixtures, and large mirrors. The bedrooms face the front of the property and
have frosted windows, which can make them dark. They are nicely
furnished with large wood dressers or armoires, though some of the bedspreads could have been higher quality.

All condos have a private balcony or patio that offer
gorgeous views of the beach. There are flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations,
and free Wi-Fi in the units.

Features

Two lively restaurants and a spectacular beach

The beach is the highlight at the resort, and it doesn’t
disappoint. It is situated on Nazareth Bay; the water is calm, clear,
and turquoise, and the sand is white and soft. There are numerous palm trees
along the beach that provide shade and scenery, and the resort provides free lounge
chairs and umbrellas for guests. There are bunch of hammocks stretched between
the trees, making the area even more picturesque.

There is a pool for guests to use, although it is located on
an adjacent property, Secret Harbor Villas. The villas are located across the
quiet street and a short walk up some stairs. The pool is very quiet (most
folks seem to prefer the beach) and large. The area is not particularly scenic
– there is a lot of concrete and no greenery or landscaping, but the area does
look out over the beach. There are loungers lined up
along one edge of the pool and there is a covered section with some tables and
chairs.

The resort has two on-site restaurants. The open-air Cruzan Beach Club,
open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, is situated right on the beach and offers gorgeous views of the bay. The restaurant's bar has a casual, friendly atmosphere and serves delicious, reasonably priced
food.
Sunset Grille is the resort’s fine-dining establishment. It's adjacent to
the Cruzan Beach Club, serves dinner only, and is also open-air -- though there is a classy, air-conditioned wine room that is available
for events.

The resort's PADI dive shop, Aqua Action, is located on the north end of the property and offers equipment, lessons,
and certification. The shop has a variety of food, clothing, and souvenirs as
well.

There are a fitness center and tennis court on-site. There is
no spa, but there is a massage room and an on-site massage therapist.
