Downtown Vancouver is western Canada's financial center, and its city streets are bustling Monday through Friday afternoons -- but weekend nights are quieter. Identified by its distinctive office towers, Downtown is also home to residential areas and modern hotels.
Vancouver Art Gallery, along with Robson Square and Pacific Centre -- a major shopping complex -- are some of Downtown's focal points. The entrance to Stanley Park -- over 1,000 acres of cedar, hemlock, and fir trees -- hooks onto Downtown's western corner.

Obviously, Downtown is a mecca for business travelers. Because of this, many high-end properties can be found in this neighborhood. Visitors looking to be within a short walking distance from most of the action may want to look for hotels close to Robson Square, Vancouver's civic center, where the Vancouver Art Gallery is located.
