Pan Pacific Vancouver

The entrance to the Pan Pacific makes a memorable first impression: a huge glass awning and beautiful hanging flowers. This massive, sophisticated hotel has an atrium-style lobby surrounded by six stories of exposed levels and an escalator with skylights overhead, making for a naturally bright, open space. The hotel shares a building with the Vancouver Convention Centre, and this keeps the ambiance busy with business travelers. Cruise ship travelers also like this hotel for it's completely convenient access to the terminal where ships arrive and depart.

The hotel is located in Canada Place, a large waterfront building that also houses the cruise ship terminal and the Vancouver Convention Centre. This iconic building features the Five Sails restaurant, named for the five sail-like fabric structures that adorn part of the edifice. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the boutiques on Robson Street are a 10-minute stroll away. The Seawall, a jogging and cycling path that lines Vancouver’s waterfront, runs right by the hotel, and the Vancouver International Airport is less than 35 minutes away by car or public transportation. Expect to pay for parking.

Sweeping harbor views are hands down the best feature of many of the Pan Pacific's 503 rooms. Some premium rooms even come equipped with a telescope so guests can take full advantage of the view. White fabric headboards with light wood frames and matching desks and nightstands give rooms a simple yet elegant feel. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, coffeemakers, and minibars. Wi-Fi is available for a fee. Bathrooms are decorated with cream-colored marble and have rainshowers and wide bathtubs. The Jade Suite has an amazing private balcony with chic daybeds and breathtaking harbor views.

The rooftop, heated, saltwater pool and hot tub are in a beautiful setting, surrounded by lounge chairs, umbrellas, and green landscaping. Next to the pool, there’s a separate, huge deck with gorgeous views of the harbor and mountains. The lounge has terrace seating that looks out on to the gorgeous harbor and mountains beyond. The fine-dining restaurant, Five Sails, serves dishes such as lavender honey-glazed Fraser Valley duck and pan-seared foie gras with peach confit, along with a full bar and weekly opera performances. Room service is available 24-hours a day. The modern fitness center has treadmills, exercise machines, and weights, and there’s a salon and spa on-site. A number of meeting rooms are also available for business travelers, as is a 24-hour business center with desktop computers and a printer. Expect to pay for Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
