Situated on the town hall square and bordered by municipal buildings like the court house, this mid-range hotel from the Spanish Eurostars chain is a polished choice in a convenient setting that attracts leisure and business travelers alike. Though it bills itself as an upscale choice, a lack of features and amenities place it on the mid-range spectrum. Sleek, contemporary interiors, though certainly chainlike and fairly bland, are clean and classy. Gleaming marble floors and wood-paneled walls in the lobby set the tone for the rest of the property. A rooftop terrace offers beautiful views over the Santa Bárbara Castle that towers above the city from its perch on Mount Benacantil. Overall, this is a solid choice for an Alicante stay, but guests expecting a four-pearl property will be disappointed.

The highlight here is the hotel's location, on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento that's home to the town hall and court house. There are plenty of dining options in the area, as well as shops and banks. Mount Benacantil and Santa Bárbara Castle tower are nearby; the castle can be reached via a 30-minute hike, or it's a six-minute walk to an elevator that goes up to the castle. Postiguet Beach is about a five-minute walk from the hotel, while the marina is eight minutes away. Most of the city's top attractions are within walking distance, including the Contemporary Art Museum (four-minute walk), Basilica of Santa Maria (four-minute walk), the Teatro Principal (seven-minute walk), and the archaeological museum (20-minute walk). The main train station is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel, or around 15 minutes by public transportation. The bus station is a six-minute drive or around 15 minutes by bus or on foot. Alicante Airport is about a 20-minute drive.

Rooms are pleasantly adorned with contemporary decor that mixes warm wooden tones (floors and furniture) with neutral colors and striped accents courtesy of curtains and matching bed throws topping white bed linens. Gray accent walls by the beds feature large photographs, while headboards have built-in nightstands with lamps. All rooms have green marble-topped desks as well as wardrobes. Single rooms are available here, as are doubles with extra beds. Other standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, electronic safes, and free Wi-Fi, but there are no tea/coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms are covered in beige tiling and equipped with shower/tub combos, bidets, toiletries, magnifying mirrors, and wall-mounted hairdryers. Some rooms have lovely large terraces with beautiful views of the castle up on Mount Benacantil. The spaces are furnished with tables and chairs as well as loungers. 

The hotel doesn't offer too much in terms of features, but a handful of extras add convenience. There's a small fitness room equipped with a treadmill, elliptical, and exercise bike, plus there are some weights. There's also a sauna. A lovely rooftop terrace offers seating and beautiful views overlooking the city's rooftops and Santa Bárbara Castle.

Though there's no full restaurant or bar, breakfast is available for a charge and is served in the hotel's dining room. The buffet includes breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fresh juices, and coffee, but many guests have remarked that the spread is mediocre and lacks variety. Room service is available. Other amenities include laundry services and daily newspapers. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
